@Bromley’s Make it Yourself RC Are you familiar with mariners? I have a mariner outboard that I missing the model #. It’s the one with orange and white stripe
best motor weve ever found the old mariners, there hard to find now tho but we can still seek them out most people know what they have now tho so there not so cheap :/
Got essentially the same engine....my has points and condensors and I'm really struggling with timing this thing....any advice...I don't have a magneto analyzer, just a multimeter
Please, does anyone know where to buy a recoil starter for Mariner 15 HP Marathon type engines because mine is damaged beyond repair, I'm from Indonesia
@@domtom7062 Many only use a 8 or 9.9 to humming around for fun. I have a 16' speed boat with an 115 Merc. to restore, l ll see how many miles/hr it gets.....
I need some advice. I am trying to put together a Jon Boat / Motor combination to be used to Rescue Hurricane and Flood victims. I have selected the Tohatsu 15 since it is the lightest engine on the market and fuel injected for reliability. This boat will sit in storage and not be used for any recreational activity. I am looking for the lightest boat that 2-3 guys can pick up and push into the water, no trailer. I am looking at a Lowe 1448. Looking for the lightest weight boat that can take the most weight. I expect flat calm water conditions and to just go slowly from point A to point B with as much people/weight in the boat as possible. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Center Mass most v Hull Timmy’s are pretty lite and can hold 3-5 peaple it depends on the size of you want more peaple in it your gonna need a bigger boat witch equals more weight but a smaller boat will hold less but is a lot lighter but I hope this helps
You should only need a 6hp motor. The 15 is overkill And just cost more money to operate and buy...the 6 hp is truly portable and easily carried ... and will run all day on a three galon tank of gasoline .. the 15 is 100 lbs. Not portable....and expensive.
@@nolancarey8062I mean on the water does the modified V help you to plan faster or have a smoother ride in the water. Is there really any avanteg from one to the other? The only rezone I am asking is I am getting ready to buy one and the modified V cost more.
My understanding of it at least is a modified v hull breaks through waves better also I believe there slightly heavier so they handle better on plane and in choppier weather. However flat bottoms allow you to go in shallower water. I personally have never driven a flat bottom but in my opinion semi v is better.
I prefer the mod v or a jon boat with coast guard bow..with a slight angle in the bottom vs a true flat bottom with a square nose. The coast guard bow Rides smoother and bites into turns better with the slight angle in the bottom. True flat bottoms bounce all over the damn place in chop and waves
Hi, I have to choose outboard between Yamaha 15 hp 1992 and Johnson 15 hp 1998 in the same condition. In your opinion what is the best? Thanks in advance.
Yamaha. Much easier and straightforward impeller replacement, easy carburetor cleaning. Yamaha it’s just build better. Not saying Johnson’s are bad, I think they even outperform Yamaha, but be prepared to do some work on them. To me every fix on Yamaha goes much easier than on Johnson. Hope you will pick the right one.
i like seeing the videos and am intersted in buying a motor but i have no way to contact you there is no way to email or phone number or business name one of these would help please
You are actually wrong. The old Mariners are made by Yamaha. If you owned one you can see the manufacturer on it. I have one and it's made from Yamaha.
My dad had a 25 Yamaha mariner with electric issues bought a 25 Yamaha's and swapped foot from one to the other the mercury does not have shift on the side it has the bullshit reverse throttle
@Lilianardo....No your wrong dudeski. My 1986 mariner 30hp 2 stroke was made by yamaha in Tokyo japan...says so right on the plate. And the block is stamped with yamaha logos. Mariners small outboards in the 80's and 90's was yamaha....they sold them under the mariner name in the usa. They also used older tech than their yamaha brothers to keep the cost down. ....great motors...run forever. Mines like brand new and it's 35 yrs old
