Yamaha Bass Drum to Floor Tom conversion

Today I converted my Yamaha Maple Custom bass drum into a floor tom. It was super simple using some DW Claw Clamps (DWSM2141) and some spare PDP legs (DW ones almost seemed to big but also work). I'm super excited to experiment with this setup! Tom sizes are: 6", 8", 10", 12", 13", 14", 15", 16". Bass Drums are 22x16, 22x18 and 18x14 (now a floor tom) and snares are 12x3, 14x4, 14x5.5, 14x6.5. Cymbals are all Sabian, mostly AAX Metal series, some specialty and some HH. Drum heads are all Evans. Primarily G2 for all the toms, HD Dry for the snares, GMAD for the bass drums. I'm happy to answer any and all questions you may have!

Thank you very much. Of all my kits it's my pride and joy. I just recently added a 4th bass drum to it lol it's just a collection addiction now more than a drumset.

Great job but I KNOW you must NOT be a gigging drummer with this BASEMENT size kit?!!!🤣🤣🤣… I can’t IMAGINE setting that up EVERY weekend!!!!!!!!! Beautiful set up!!!!!👍👍👍👍☝️☝️

Actually, back in the day, I traveled with this kit as a 9pc. 2 kicks, 3 rack toms, 2 floor toms 2 snares. Now I pay a 5 piece, and even then, I cringe lol 😆 🙃 😅 😬

I was heavily influenced by Mike Portnoy back in the day. Use to have the octobans all setup too. The Purple Monster was my favorite of his kits. I call this kit my Maple Monster. Thanks for watching!

nice idea - and I've got an extra 26" bassdrum that I'm thinking of putting somewhere left, right or behind me, just like the Uriah Heep drummer on the "Wacken" Open Air Concert 3 years ago .. maybe I'll get these DW claw clamps and give it a try ;-)
