Greg Morecraft I am comfortable and can ride pretty much all day. I do hear other people complain about the seat though. My girlfriend hates the passenger seat. She won't ride with me for anything more than an hour.
I have had many bikes, small and big V-Twins. I owned a 2014 Bolt C-spec. I liked that bike and am looking to get another one. In my opinion, it is not worth doing more than adding a slipon for the bolt or another V-Twin. I did air breather, slipon and auto tuner on my Bolt. In retrospect, should have just installed the slipon. In fact the shop manual for my 1300 Vstar says there is no problem just changing the muffler, this does not effect anything else on the bike, because the Oxygen sensor is still functioning as normal and EFI system is not effected. As far as the sound and backfire is concerned, I would do a lot of research to find the perfect slipon that limits these issues. Airbox and cpu upgrades can't do this. But thats whats fun about customizing a bike. Love Bolts, and good luck
CPU upgrades absolutely can help with pops. Anything that helps regulate the air to fuel mixture can impact popping on decel. The fact is, the popping is there even with the stock exhaust - it's just not very audible. Putting a louder pipe on allows you to hear what was happening all along. It's pretty widely known that you don't need to mess around with fuel management on the bolt if you just change the muffler unless the decel pop just really bothers you. Opening up the intake is when consideration needs to be given to fuel management.
The sound is pretty awesome but the paint lifted from the pipes in a pretty big spot. My bike is in great shape accept for one dumb spot on the top of my pipes. Maybe it's from riding in Sacramento heat when it's 110° outside or something.
Staying stock on mine. Not much gain in Horse Power.I'll Get the KN Air Filter to replace the stock setup.Word is I'll gain a little HP but heck why spend tons of money just for sound.Nope my C-Spec is fine just the way it is after all if the manufacture wanted it loud they would of done different.Peak performance is what they did without doing to much.
1winkaz as much as i love the sound it does "pop" more then I like. there is a fine line between popping and backfiring. That being said, i have noticed an unmistakable difference in traffic around me now that people hear me coming. It makes a big difference when splitting lanes.
Styxx the Animal the stock pipes sound great while the bolt is sitting but once you get going the sound falls off. the slip-on pipes are louder for sure. I'm not sure how to quantify how much louder they are but I don't set off car alarms when I ride by and people definitely hear me coming on the freeway when I'm splitting Lanes.
