I don’t think the Hamilton plating is necessary. I’ve got a silver plated CSG III and have paired it with a Chedeville Umbra mouthpiece and 3.5 V12 reeds; can’t imagine a warmer sound! This is such a wonderful instrument. Yamaha have done wonders with this model.
Thanks David.. must check the Yammys out a bit further.. there's a bit of competition out there these days on the high end clarinets.. we need more high end playing to make use of them..lol comparison videos on youtube are very difiicult to get accros i think once YT has had its hands on the video and compressed it..
Lovely sound from a great player and fellow : ) I did hear quite clearly the difference between the gold plate and silver . . . much prefer the sound of the gold. A beautiful looking but more importantly, a beautiful sounding instrument.
