I just purchased a DGX670 and absolutely love it. I was looking for sound and feel and of all the keyboards I sampled at my local store, the DGX670 was second to none in both.
Yamaha needs to offer dedicated classes on how to use their instruments, like the DGX670. It would also be great if they showed how the demos of each instrument were done.
I've had my DGX-670 since last October and still struggling with the registration and multi-track recording features. I love the keyboard but want to enjoy all of the features it offers. 😒
@@luvkayakn same and i want to recrod the piano presets as midi or audio into my daw but seems like this piano cant do that, only cna use as midi to play other vst thats a pity:/
@@rubengarcia-ks1fc just today I'm trying to save the song settings to 3/4 time instead of 4/4. I change it and it will not save. Such a seemingly simple thing.
True. I'm in love with its performance but I'm struggling to understand how to use the multitrack, it's midi setup which is not GM compatible and the styles system. I don't understand what I need to play in style editor to get the proper results once in chord progression play. Sounds all messed up.
I am watching this video 2 hours after ordering the DX670 and I am so glad I did not go for any other keyboard. Gosh I am so waiting to get this delivered. It’s all about who is playing the piano but the keyboard has the features and I have a lot to learn.
Yeah I bought it. Wow what a complete keyboard this is. I can't believe the sounds. Organs are rich. Synths are FAT. THE concert grand is like as good as on the more expensive keyboards, No even maybe better.
Man I bought this and I'm so happy with its overall completeness of tone quality and features. This is the cheapest most complete piano I have ever owned. I had a psr model over 1000 that what just bad and hard to use. I had a Casio that was garbage. I had a korg x 3 that was just junk. In short this is pound for pound the best 👌 👍🏻 imo.
I ORDERED THIS TODAY.. have purchased SOOO many guitars, amps etc from Sam Ash in Sarasota and felt they were always so helpful, I have always wanted a digital piano as I am tired of the moving anxiety over my acoustic piano.......... I AM SUPER excited to be getting this and know I made a good decision on the instruments and buying it from Sam Ash, they stand by what they sell.. 👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🤗🤗🤗🤗
Story time: Wanted to learn piano, with pandemic and crap wanted a digital piano with a lot of functions to get entertained while learning, got the DGX-660 with stand and pedals from Kraft music and two or three months later the 670 was announced, the guys at Kraft were great in allowing me to return the 660 to preorder the 670. This was in October 2020, the 670 (with pedals and stand) finally arrived in June 2021, said it before, the 670 is a beast by itself, and spending 1 hour a day practicing. After reading more reviews and watching more videos, the only thing that would make the 670 the Magnus Opus of the digital piano world would be, to have the NWX key action, by itself the graded hammer action is good and will give you hours and hours of entertainment. Hell, if Yamaha offered a mod kit / pack to buy a NWX key set or keyboard to install on the 670, I would be in the market for it.
Wow, hard agree after all of my research. If it had NWX, or the option to swap one in, I would have ordered it already. The price jump to the P515 or CP88 is a big difference, and they are different beasts.

In multiple Sounds layering. Yes! we can make multiple layers of sounds/instruments if we connect and DGX 670 with our DAW as our MIDI and AUDIO interface.

Purchased a DGX-670 from Sam Ash in Edison, NJ (ordered online - it was $800 at the time). Received about 6 weeks ago, but I had to wait 7 weeks before it was shipped as it was not yet available in the US. I love the sounds (no issue with the inboard speakers, and you can send to and external amp and speakers easily) and no need to spend $150 every 6 to 10 months to tune like with my baby grand. It is insane how much capability Yamaha put into this upgrade of the DGX-660. I think it will take me months to find all of the features and how to make them work, it is so complex. BTY, I really enjoyed the demo. Great playing.
@@darynadobrovolskaya1122 Hi Daryna, Just got my DGX670 a week ago. All I can say is WOW!!!! It makes me sound like a pro. Beautiful sounds, hundreds of different combination. Piano touch is the same as a grand piano. Love it.
Great and informative, I happen to buy mine a while back from samash. One thing that was not mentioned is its polyphonic notes and its I believe 16 track recording.
Many thanks for that video. It's impressive and mostly interesting. I have my 670 since 4 months and learning new things everyday. There is one point that is very confusing in the manual, both in english or french. It's the ''Procedure to transfer the ''bank registration'' to ''user playlist'' and to a ''usb stick''''. I have tried that and the transfer is not alway made. Sometime it multiply a registred bank. Anyway, a good explanation on video would please many 670 fans. Thanks for your attention. Good work. JP
What an awesome digital piano. I'm visiting India from the USA, and looking to buy this keyboard. They are selling faster than hot cakes over here, and dealers across the country are out of stock. Back at home I own a Kawai ES920, and I daresay the Yamaha DGX 670 is a formidable competitor. However, the ES920 is really great sounding digital piano. The rhythms though are a royal PAIN to find what rhythm you want: you have to SCROLL through them one by one. To repeat, it is a pain. But that said, the rhythms on it are very good. It has auto chord functions. Another BIG improvement from the Kawai ES920: on the ES920 if I connect my laptop's Aux out to the audio in, I get a humming or buzzing sound. Plus, no way to control the volume input from the AUX. Whereas in the DGX670, if I plug in the Aux cable, no humming. AND, I can make the Aux input the only source of sound using the Equalizer. This is fabulous to do online piano learning apps like Piano Marvel.

1:01:50 I don't think Melvin meant what you showed there, he probably wanted to see the "Grand Staff" on the screen and the notes I play on it, I wanted to see that myself but the 670 cannot do that. It only shows the notes when playing recorded music, but not when just practicing or for fun. Also got in touch with Yamaha support, but they confirmed it's not an available function.
CASIO 63 key keyboards do this... you would think a flagship would be able to do that. I have this 670 and the Casio Privia 870.. (I used to have the DGX-650 and the Privia 860) and I prefer the DGX-650 over all of them... I liked the 660 as well but I never owned that one.

I'm in the market right now to find a slightly above grade novice keyboard for my son who just began piano lessons a couple of weeks ago. Your presentation will save me from having to convince my wife. I've been looking at every contender from digital pianos, Arranger/workstations, midi controllers with software samples. The DGX 670 thus far has been the most convincing at its price point to consider a purchase! Thanks again, gentlemen, for such a thorough product presentation! Loved every minute of it, even the tutorial of the piano structure vs the sample/resonance modeling in the DGX (don't know if I got the terms right), but I think you understand what I'm pointing out! Amazing keyboard for $700 along with the extra charge for the worthwhile pedal/stand accessories. Would this keyboard work well as a MIDI controller with mutli-channel function for a Reason or any DAW style setup? Or is it limited to MIDI channel 1 only?
I would like to know how he connected the DGX670 into a larger screen. I have poor eyesight (getting worse) and can't see the screen very well. Also, it would be great to have a dedicated DGX670 channel if anyone happens to know this fantastic instrument well enough to do so.
If you mean something like 52:10 EDIT, correction, it's an iPhone, he is using his iPad to control the iPhone cameras, so he can switch between them and zoom in.
Sir I'm from India. I have purchased Yamaha DGX-670. Previously I have Yamaha PSR-I500. In the style section of Yahama DGX-670, I can find only 4/4 beat. But I'm not getting any option 3/4 beat or waltz. I will be highly obliged if you kindly guide me in issue
I want to buy this keyboard, Sam Ash has a location in Sarasota Bradenton area I have bought several guitars for my son from them, right now I'm living in lake Co FL but will be relocating back to nokomis within a yr, so I'm thinking it would be best to buy from you in case I have a problem with the keyboard, I will only be using it as my primary piano at home I am a retired RN from Sarasota Hosp. my question is what file format (sound/wave files) does the DGX recognize? So if I copy from the internet files I can load into the DGX if that is possible . I saw file format that says they are for Yamaha keyboards but my zip file software did not recognize the file format. also the Yamaha song website does not recognize the DGX series on the website WHY? It would be nice to send me the link to see what sounds and styles I can add to the DGX that is set up for the DGX .I asked one of your distributors this question and they couldn't answer any of them. please respond thanks
how many VRM voices are on the DGX670 vs the P125? what I mean out of all the voices they both offer; are any of the main ones less quality than the P125? meaning less data; less of a sample? regardless of different speakers; i am talking about the source data
You guys didn't answer the Customer Question: "How can you see chords without backing tracks?" What he was asking, which is the same thing that I want to know is, can we just choose a piano sound and try to work out the chord on our own. For example, if we flat the 3rd in real time we would see it go to a minor chord and then if we sharpen it we would see it go back to a major chord.
I’d like to get this keyboard but. Don’t have enough room so I can’t have the stand. Ar there other options for the 3 unit pedal box? If I use other 3 pedal units can I use the full fuctions and controllers with oem pedals?
I loved the Yamaha S90ES can you bring all those features over to this one, like the arpegiators and loopers all the amazing sounds etc as well as synth, it also had a balanced hammer action with after touch,
Do you know the reason the chorus and reverb is showing as not available in the display and following page 6 of the manual nothing changes for the Yamaha dgx 670 please?
I have a DGX-640 that I can’t find the soft wear for. (CD that came with it) And i had a problem with the screen which other models have experienced as well. Have the solved the screen problem on this model? The screen would go half black. I also have problems now hooking up with MIDI to my iPad.
I just bought one used and for some reason when I got home it sounds terrible. I think it might have something to do with the pitch bend or maybe the reverb. I went through the Reset but it didn’t help. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to update? Currently the program is 1.03 and the Yamaha application (smart pianist -yamaha controller -chord tracker )does not see Bluetooth. However, the mobile phone sees the instrument's Bluetooth in its settings, but when I enter the application, it does not see it. Yamaha DGX 670
So there's no stereo line out for left and right outputs? Only a single mono output? How might I get a stereo output to front of house sound guy with the PA system? Not possible?

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question regarding Bluetooth connectivity. The DGX supports Bluetooth IN but not Bluetooth OUT. Not sure why this is, can you please clarify this? It certainly would be nice to be able to connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to studio monitors or headphones. This would also partially address the lack of TRS ouout lines. Seems like the Bluetooth hardware is already there so it's really a shame they didn't give Bluetooth OUT capability. Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
U have probably already been asked this, but what is the difference between the soundboard between the p125, and the p515 and the dgx670. Which soundboard is used for the 125, 515 and the670. Thank you for any input?

Question, on my new DGX-670 I am enjoying use of the SONG==>SELECT, and then moving the (tab already set to preset) cursor from 𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 to 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐚-𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠, pressing enter and selecting the already selected first song 𝐀𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞. Pressing play in the same SONG section results in the absolutely A-level rendition including string orchestra with even snare drum, flute and harp embellishments. So, 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘰'𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 or are they simply intended to demonstrate capabilities for recordings?
I wouldn't exactly call it "portable." It would be a bear to take on gigs and I wouldn't do it! It is certainly a two-person job! Also, I don't think it's really designed to be moved around. And the cheap plug that goes in the back reminds me of those old Casios from the 1980s. It's a great keyboard but it does have issues.
@@Monchachay1 Hi Kwae! I WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN! I am not a professional by any means and the issues I have are most likely something I can learn how to deal with. For instance, when I am playing an accompaniment track, (you know, playing chords with the left hand), I can't hear the instrument I am soloing with on my right hand, such as guitar, even when I turn the volume up very high on the solo instrument. I think this is something that should have been done by default. I hope it isn't just my keyboard! Also, I think the brass section instruments are pretty thin. Also, there seems to be some hesitation when I am changing chords. Again, I am not a professional! However, I think it's a great instrument for the price and remember, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL and probably just need more time studying how to control things. In fact, I would be first to advise someone to buy it! I advised my son to buy it for my granddaughter, so I do love it very much. These are minor issues and probably my fault, so, please, don't make a judgement based on my problems! I would advise anyone to buy this!
@@BoneyWhy you can turn up or down the volume on each instrument so if you turn down the sound on the bass end of it's too loud then u could hear it or play it softer ?? Just saying
What happened? Why is the stereo field missing? What are your recording configurations? Audio out or USB audio out to the recorder, or recording to the DGX's USB drive? I stopped watching at 19:00 minutes because something is very wrong with the recording and/or broadcast.
I have a big distaste about this product that I wish I could control! Upon turning on my keyboard I would like to go straight to the "Style Option" and would like to have the option of my own default setting instead of what is given to me. Meaning: [Default settings that are per-set on "Pop & Rock ~ Ballad ~ Dance & Rock ~ Country and Blues ~ Etc.]. Is there a way to change that given default setting option where I can just turn on the keyboard and have the option to just click my preference for expediency on the "Style" reference? Where can I go for an answer?
I just bought the DGX-670 - I had the 660 and 650 models. I'm going crazy trying to access the XG & GM voices...can't find them yet I see a list (Found it online) of all the additional voices within those areas for the 670. On my previous models (660/650) I could scroll through and find the all the voices together...what am I missing and how do I access the GM/XG voices - they should be loaded up onto my keyboard and not something I have to purchase additionally correct?

I purchased this piano and I’m sick of the demos that don’t actually show you how to navigate the piano to get there! How do I learn how to use this piano, where do I go to learn? Enough of the demos already without teaching how to do it.
QQQQQ - Can the "CME Bluetooth USB MIDI Host" dongle, connected to the USB MIDI OUT of the Yamaha DGX 670 allow it to connect via Buetooth with all the Yamaha Apps on Windows, Mac, Androi, iOS, etc..?
Looking for the Jurassic Park that Heratch was playing with. I seen 2 on the Yamaha web site but they didn’t sound anywhere close to what he was playing. Any ideas?
