Not sure on that to be quite honest, I changed this out because I noticed an overcharge and this seemed to correct that. Have you tested your alternator?
@@selfemployedstudent no I have not tested it yet but I think there is a way to check both stator and regulator. The hard part is finding the required resistance or ohms for those specific parts. Service manual? Idk no luck on forums
From what I’m seeing replacing the voltage regulator might actually solve the issue. I did find a Hull Truth thread where someone stated low voltage (11.7) and changing the regulator fixed it. Can’t guarantee that that will but maybe worth a shot. Also load testing your batteries to make sure they are good (not sure if you’ve done that already). Could also be a short in your wiring too.
@@selfemployedstudent I replaced the cables and batteries. I went out twice then the new batteries were DEAD. I also read high voltage was more common than low but that gives me hope. Thanks man!
I have this engine and I am looking for the characteristic curves of the alternator (stator) amperage vs Speed, do you have it or do you know from where I can pick up it. thank you
