In-depth comparison between two flagship arrangers from Yamaha and Korg. unfortunately, I had to remove some of the cover songs that I played by Genos2 since youtube blocked me from posting because of copyright issues!!
Korg pa5x has more solid sounds and great styles, but genos 2 is a great keyboard. Both are equal, I own Genos 2, but I like korg pa5x a little bit more.
I'm sorry, but I can't understand when someone says I like the Korg better but still buys the Yamaha??? Then there must be something wrong with you🤔🤔🤔 I bought the Yamaha because I like it 100% and I don't like the Korg at all. The Yamaha is at least ten times better for me and that's why I bought the keyboard.🤣 But if you prefer something else, then you shouldn't buy the Yamaha. I'm sorry, but I just can't understand people like that.🤣
@@stevesolitaire5013I will buy Korg Pa5x Musikant as well next year, because I had no money to buy 2 keyboards at the same time. They are both great. Yamaha is the 1st choice, because I know Yamaha for 30 years and they build stable keyboards. But korg pa5x is great, I played it many times. The sound reminds me sometimes on my Korg Kronos, that I used years ago. And Korg Pa5x has great 88 keys. Why Yamaha doesn't sell Genos 2 with 61 and 88 keys GHS Keyboard. My Yamaha DGX 670 has better 88 Keyboard than Genos 2. Why are Yamaha doing this things. I don't like it.
You wouldn't know what brand/name of the keyboard Korg is using? I hope it's a Fatar. The Japanese RH3 key bed is too heavy an action.@@hensongustav9381
Korg pa5x has more solid sounds and great styles solid metal black case, wonderfully designed buttons keys and adjustable high resolution display much more winner fo me pa5x
Thank you for your amazing video content. And your honest review cuz in many channels in youtube some people sponsored and advertise products but your review is very honest without any sponsor of any brands. I hope you make videos comparison of korg pa5x and ketron event too. Cuz I would love to know your idea about ketron event with pa5x too. You did a great job comparing. ✌️✌️✌️
I own both a Genos and the Pa5x and I find the Korg has a much better live sounding grooove. It feels more danceable and the ergonomics are much faster and better structured for live performing. I gigged with the Pa4x for 4 years and the 5x really takes performing to a whole new level. For example, on the Pa5x, its ONE button push to create a songbook entry; on the Genos it takes 4 or 5 button pushes to save the entry, then save the MusicFinder data to disk. Its little things like that which are much better on the 5x. Also, there are controls more handy on the 5x in the small LCD screen. And finally, the Organ section on the 5x really did it for me; its much more comprehensive and is COSM modelled making the Hammond sound more authentic. An example of this is the Implementation of the Chorus function C1, C2, C3 which gives that famous swirling hammond sound.
It's hard to say which is better. The lines are becoming more and more blurred if that makes sense. On one hand the sounds of the Genos are sampled from actual Yamaha instruments, considering Yamaha is a manufacturer for everything and not just keyboards/pianos. But that being said, the same could be said about the Pa5x, considering that most of the sounds of the Pa5x are derived from both the Nautilus and the Kronos, and most of THOSE sounds are modelled instruments and not sampled (German, Japanese, Berlin Grands and so on). Styles I think I like the Pa5x slightly more, but then again that's just me. Physical keybed though, unless you were getting a Montage, MOTIF or keyboards like that, that's DEFINITELY the Pa5x.
Great video. I have always thought the Korg keyboards sounded better and far more professional than any of Yamaha's offering, and the gap now between the Pa5x and Genos2 is even bigger. Where the Yamahas has stayed pretty much sounding the same as always, the Pa5x is on another level altogether yet again. I also own a Ketron Event and I can tell you the comparison between the Pa5x and Event is far far closer! That comparison is much more interesting, but not with a Genos! Not to also mention the build quality between the Korg and Yamaha, it's night and day difference as well where on the Korg I feel like I am playing a premium instrument.
@@KORGO1W Hello. It is very difficult to choose between the two because I think the Event just about has the better styles due to a lot of the tracks are live tracks, but the Event still has a number of issues and so until they fix those the Pa5x will remain my favourite. The Styles on the Event are superb though, no doubt about that.
I agree with you. I think ketron event has best style in all arranger keyboard in world cuz they have live pattern guitar accord and bass and live drum patten . And I find out we can use ajam sonic expansion that company in delaware made this expansion and we can use this expansion that have many guitar live loop as accord and bass and drum pattern . That expansion give more power to create custom styles and this keyboard have this features. What is your idea about ajam sonic expansion in ketron event ? But I have korg pa5x.
Korg Pa5X sounds more Naturally Yamaha Genos sounds more Nicely No doubt Pa5X is a one-man Orchestra, Band, Army in music... 5X be like - leave everything on me and I'll control everything. Let you enjoy the show baby 😝💖😎✨
Thanks for the video. Probably the first comparison on youtube! However I hear the background noise during the video playback... How did you record the sound?
Interesting point about the copyright. So part of the cost of these keyboards maybe the copyright payouts to all the song publishers. Because in reality it seems like there's about $2,000 worth of hardware but they're charging $5,600 for the keyboard.
Please try the long intro on GENOS startet with a minor and a major chords. PA4X and PA5X has a different pattern for each style. Tap twice on the start or intro or break , it plays endless. Try the same on GENOS 2, I'm very very curious 😮 unfortunately the sound isn't directly from the audio output, a pity 😕
Yamaha HS series has a decent quality for the price. If you are talking about satellite speakers for pa5x or genos, Yamaha is better since it comes with subwoofer.
Yamaha tiene baterías que retumban es rico Korg tiene sonidos ralea me preguntó en algún momento si hacen fusión la marca sería poderoso esa marca uff te imaginas
@@synth.s i use to have a Yamaha Montage 7 so im familiar with the keybed. I will be ordering soon the Korg Pa5X 76 model so i just want to make shure it has a good keybed action.
Lots of strange ppl in here making strange comments 😂 Anyways, thanks for the video. Getting a pa5x in late February and hearing more examples is welcomed. Time to sell the fantom and mpc key to help pay for it. The Nautilus is staying ofcourse 🫡 Post more if youre up for it, ill always be here to give a 👍and 🤘
As much as I love korg Genos2 is a Band in the box. Take it or leave it. I played both but saying to buy Genos because I will not need any other player to join me I can do all with it solo.
Korg pax5 is a lot better than genos2 . The problem with genos 2 is that is sound to digital and sound like a casio from the 80 , korg is a pro keyboard and the sound are more natural and real , and the piano sound on korg destroy the cfx on genos 2 and the string sound on korg make the genos 2 string look like garbage
@@stevesolitaire5013I have had both, returned the genos 2. As a Yamaha fanboy (motorcycles, guitars, and keyboards) I expected way more after 7 year wait but it is very underwhelming, plus looks cheap with all that plastic. However it is admittedly easier to use and the 1600+ pages in the Korg manual is overwhelming 😂.
5 years and this is the best yamaha could do? they nailed it with the montage. the gene sounds very shrill on the upper octaves. the 5x mic settings are superb and the guitar inputs eliminate the need for a guitar amp. sorry JA. PAN. COMPANY, thee Italians WIN!!!!
