Changed out the tires to 26” Maxxis Bighorn 1.0 Front end feels lighter and more confident inspiring. See the whole video for various terrain riding example videos. I really prefer this setup if mudding is not your thing.
Nice set up. I’m looking for something similar, can you tell me what tires and rims you put on them including the size, I currently have the 27xx10x14 and I’m not impressed with the Maxxis zillas for the riding I like to do.
I just picked up a 22 SE, the tires rode fairly well on hard pack farm roads. My plan is Kenda Bearclaw HTRs, but i am not in a rush. Everything on the machine runs so smooth and bumps are absorbed well with Zillas.
looks like a beast, thinking about getting one for messing around and on trails. Would you recommend for those purposes? If not what would you say would be better? I have watched some other vids and it looks solid. Does it handle good, hold up, go fast enough, etc. awesome video by the way, informative and helpful.
Yes it is a great machine. Only thing I would definitely recommend is get skid plates for the bottom. Plastic does not cut it and the foot wells are really vulnerable
Looks Good. I just bought a 2021 Grizzly XT-R with 250 miles on it. I have the Square set-up with 27x10x14 Zilla's on it and although I haven't really ridden it much yet as I'm buried in about 15" of Snow here in Michigan, They look like they might ride a bit rough on the hard packed trails and fire roads. I like the look of your setup and was wondering if you know the part #'s of those Factory Wheels you used or what year and model they come on? Thanks.
These are standard on many models including Current Model Grizzly and Kodiak that come with 12” rims. Very common rims for Yamaha 4x4 ATVs Look at my video I did to see what it takes to put these on.
Considering that I don’t have the exhaust or the intake mods my gains if any are going to be minimal. Do I see the difference when I punch the throttle I feel I do see a slight difference. It does run a bit cooler as well in summer. Winter you cannot really tell. I don’t have the data to back it up. I do not intend to put EHS on my Kodiak.
@Urban Acres I ended up getting the EHS for my Grizzly... seemed pretty cheap build quality defiantly made in China.... I got paranoid about the long-term reliability of my engine, so I took it off. The new Grizzly doesn't run lean... There are a few good quality RU-vid videos of this.
