A Mezzoforte Hangszeráruház csapata a Yamaha kínai és japán gitár- és dobgyárában járt (mint a két legnagyobb magyarországi Yamaha gitárpartner egyike). Ezen a felvételen a Yamaha akusztikus gitárok gyártási folyamatát láthatjátok, Kínában, Hancsou-ban. A gyárban elképesztő a profizmus, naponta akár 927 gitárt képesek legyártani, tesztelni, ellenőrizni. Óriási csarnokban tárolják a minőségi faanyagot (ez látszik a videó elején, egy állóképen), a faanyag szárító/tároló helységében van az A.R.E. "faöregítő" gép is. Minden részfeladatot külön munkások végeznek, érdemes megnézni a kézügyességüket, pl. a binding (szegélyezés) beillesztésénél. Az alkalmazottak javarésze nő, lévén, hogy sokkal precízebbek, aprólékosabbak, alaposabbak.

Amazing the amount of hand work and wood perfection that go in to the handcrafted acoustics from Yamaha...Far more than Taylor's Guitars which are almost all machine made. The new 800 series acoustics are as great toned and playing as most guitars costing 1 K more! Yamaha is so timeless!

Well, that’s impressive. Just purchased (2019) an FG800 from BestBuy Canada. It was on sale for $109 CDN. It arrived in that cardboard box as shown in the video. Not a ding. Not a scratch. And the sound was wonderful. I own a 1970 Hohner 360. A 1930s Columbian arch top and I used to own a 1970s, FG75 Nippon Gakki made Yamaha. Had ten guitars so far. This Made in China by Yamaha, FG800 is fantastic. Play it everyday. I cannot believe the hands-on that goes into these ‘factory made’ guitars. Congrats to Yamaha and the craftsmanship at the Chinese factory.

It's called global capitalism, or exploitation if you wish, Japanese brought their factories to China simply because our salary was significantly lower, as China developing then they will bring factories to cheaper place like Vietnam ,Thailand and India, some of them already did, after Asia is developed they will bring manufacturing to Africa, it's impossible to bring manufacturing industry back to a developed country like states, especially many of them have very high minimum wage, it's just how capitalism works.
@bka24141
@bka24141 3 года назад
@@ChenLinYu323 well, it depends. Once the technology like AI is better developed and salaries in developing countries get to high, they will consider relocating the factories back to developed countries.

Looks like "Made In China" is no longer a punchline anymore, man I'm DEEPLY humbled seeing this! Praying my country's manufacturing base (USA) can get back to this level of dedication and attention to detail ASAP because we haven't made anything of actual worth since the WW2 generation:::sigh:::that said, glad my recently-purchased Yamaha FG820 (left-handed variant) is coming right out of this factory. Yamaha been on top of its game dating back to the 70s, my goodness...

It’s more impressive than the Martin and Gibson factory. These people care about the work they are doing. A lot of American factories have an “I don’t care look” with obese sloppy looking employees and messy work stations. This looks like a clean room. I compared the Chinese A3 to the Japanese A5 and the A3 actually sounded better. Very nice. It’s probably why FG830’s sound better than Martin D18’s and Gibson J45’s. Plus they are $2600 cheaper. I’m over the glam, I play Yamaha.

In America most factories are just like that. I owned a precision sheet metal shop for 35 years.I do know that if more time on inspection and having a dedicated employee makes a differance. Yamahas made in Japan cost more and of better quality because production speed is not as important as the product.Made in America still means something

John makes guitars for a living. John charges $8000 per guitar. John makes 16 guitars a year. 16 times per year, John gets practice shaping a neck. Xio makes guitars for a living for Yamaha. Yamaha charges $219 per guitar. Xio shapes 286 necks PER DAY. Xio is better at shaping necks than John. I'll take a yamaha guitar (with well chosen woods, etc) any day. :)
@carloko08
@carloko08 6 лет назад
excelent logic thinking, Wulf, is exactly as you say, "Xio" is better than "John" shaping guitar necks, that is the real thing, for the same work i can have a good and cheap guitar made it by Xio instead pay a fortune to the good but expensive Jhon, industries like Gibson of some others abuse of the trust of customers selling an idea of quality that is very expensive, i prefer the chinese idea, for a couple of bucks i can have the same product, whatever a purist can say about the "superior build" of Gibson and other companies
@austinknowlton1783
@austinknowlton1783 6 лет назад
Jeff Wulf while I have a few Yamaha guitars including one made at this factory, I can't say I totally agree anymore. I used to think exactly the same way, but then I started getting into Lutherie, the art of building instruments. I have discovered that none of my Yamahas have perfectly spaced or completely even frets, and as a consequence none of them have perfect intonation. The nuts are plastic and often poorly fitted. While overall fit and finish is really good it's not on par with what you could expect from a Luthier who takes his craft seriously and takes the time to carve the nut, fit frets, level and shape them, etc. to near perfection.There is a lot more that goes into building a quality neck than shaping it.While I feel $8000 is excessive for nearly any instrument, like the saying goes you get what you pay for. Just some food for thought.

Does the wood makes sound any difference? I know one type of tree very light even if it submerged in muddy water it sounds better than any metal. We use to make kind of bell for our cow or buffalo so that even if it is raining or wallow in the muddy the sound can easily hear from miles. That’s why I was thinking whether should I try sound box or guitar. Does that wood will make any difference?
@koine2002
@koine2002 5 месяцев назад
I’m 3 years late, but yes, the wood makes a difference. The strings, through the saddle and the bridge, cause the top to vibrate which produces the sound. Those sound waves also reflect off of, and vibrate, the back and sides which produce sound. Some vibration is transferred to the neck through both that and the nut. This adds to the sound, creating more vibration to the body. The top is the most important, though (thus called the sound board). Different woods have different vibrational tendencies. Sitka spruce, which is getting harder and harder to get in quantity, is the gold standard for brightness. I prefer cedar for its balance of brightness and warmth. There’s also Mahogany, Koa, myrtle, and now even eucalyptus among others. A solid top (as opposed to plywood laminate) produces the best sound. Solid back and sides provide more depth (as opposed to laminate).

Umm it's a job. And they are so proficient they can do it with their eyes closed. Why spend 100 hrs building one just to get the same results that u can in a fraction of the time? ....workers could pretend to care....but it's a job and it's communist china.. These guitars are great for the money. Time is money. they could slow down and double check every detail but i imagine that its much more efficient for them to not slow down and just have a solid quality control guy culling any flawed guitars. The top end yamahas shame martins that cost 4 times more. how do i know?....I own both....and the yamaha is built better. Ps.....Martin and gibson factory workers are just as fast. Trust me after u work in a factory on the line for years....its just a job. No matter if you love guitars and it was your dream job to build them. When u work on a line...you become a robot. 20 years ago Chinese guitars were spotty quality and sometimes junk Especially China made acoustics. Not any more. Buy an all solid wood China made guitar for 600 to 1k$ (top end). a entry level Martin cost what 600$ thoseguitars aren't even in the same league as a 600$ yamaha. I try to buy American when possible...but the prices make it difficult to afford when it comes to American guitars. If u want "love" built into a guitar....at a great price go with a Yari or a Japaneeeeeze made Takamine....those guitars are a step up in attn to detail...but they cost two or three times as much.
@arthurogle7581

If or when people ask me if my recently purchased Yamaha FG800 is solid wood or laminated I refer them to Yamaha guitar factory specs. The finish on my FG800 is simply stunning. My Martin looks no better. Ditto my son's FG830. IMO Yamaha assemblers appear to be driven to make a great lo end guitar. Are their Japanese made solid wood guitars better? Jury is out on that issue!!!

@@paulneedham9885 I’ve played them and owned them and they are not great guitars if you want a Chinese guitar that competes with anything out there then try an Eastman e20d or a e40d or even a e10d they are on the same level as Marin’s for half the cost. It may all be subjective to some but also some don’t have the ear for great guitars

@@randyscott9034 Your opinion. My ears are fine and I would put my FG365SE up against most things out there. It was that guitar that made me look at the FG800 series and my FG840 sounds great but in 30 years will sound wonderful. Too many people buy with their eyes on the Headstock name and not with their ears. Martins are not the be all and end all. I like Martins but I also like Yamaha and I'm not bothered where its made, I want to play it, not chat with it.

@@paulneedham9885 as mentioned it’s all subjective there’s people who can’t tell the difference between a high dollar Santa Fe or huss and dalton or bougeois etc. and a 400 dollar guitar

You should not deserve one...that is clear

Why? where you expecting them to fashion a guitar from a block of wood with a penknife?

@@paulneedham9885 I expect them to make guitars, not furnitures. Apparently, you don't know how good guitars are made. Better educate your self before comenting because you sound stupid.

@@nellatrab No I don't deserve a garbage guitar. That is why I have a hand made Jose Ramirez A1 concert guitar. So get a grip, you're clueless.

@@fredricsuza2817😄😄 If people with little money followed your advice, no one would learn to play anymore. I'd be sitting around waiting for $4,000 to spend. Then you will find me sitting on a bench with white hair and wrinkles
