Is the F40 compatible ? Note on the box it says from F50 up but surely the F40 would work

This is the lowrance cable for lowrance to Yamaha. I'm sure they have one to hook up to your bird.

Hello. What year and model is your engine? Do you connected to command link or directly to the nmea conector of the engine? Works well?

It is a 2015 and there was a connector there. I do not have the command link gauges but most motors have the connector.

I have figured out everything from the motor to the back bone with a Yamaha is all the same. Garmin, lowrance. They all connect to a common backbone (nmea 2000 networ) but for the life of me I cannot find where the interface cable connects to my engine at!! Any info or pics?

+x_Gamble Man_x mine had a white plastic cap on the front of the motor under the cowling. There is a pic at beginning of video.

It's a white connecter with a cap on it.

Brett Langlois if your motor is too old it will not have a connection, 20005-2006 is when it started.

The unused plug is white and on my 2017 yamaha 115 it was located on the transom side of the engine. It has a white blank cover protecting it you have to remove to connect the interface cable.
