This is smart! In the future, this will also allow demoing of keyboards for folks in small towns, like mine, whose music store doesn't carry the expensive flagship models. If they take the next logical step & decide to sell this as a VST &/or app independent of the keyboard (like Korg with its synths) this could also afford those of us with Nords or other lightweight controllers we prefer the ability to increase our soundset without increasing our load. If the price is right, this is definitely the future of ROMplers.
@@wheatworkspro This is not fully correct. You can go live with VST and a midi controller. So you can use the software with hardware miles away. This opens space for software cracks. I am not interested but I am sure I could get it just now. This is why I should consider to sell the VST alone. Let's see if Yamaha changes idea
@@gentleman0678 I totally disagree. I would buy the VST in a heartbeat but will never buy the Montage. Way more people have lets say $500 to spend than $3500 on a new synth.
Just bought my Mx yesterday, following the link for the esp download isn’t getting me anywhere. It sent me to a page to create an account with Yamaha, which I did, then nothing gets to the download link.
E.S.P. licence itself is activated thru Steinberg Activation Manager (together with Montage's serial number). So basically, you can not get the E.S.P without the code AND keyboard serial number, you need both of them. Those two, together, are during registration/activation LINKED TO STEINBERG ID of the owner. If, and only IF that ID was created for E.S.P. activation ONLY and not containing any other licences (Cubase, Nuendo etc), the owner can simply give login credentials for that Steinberg ID to next owner if one day he decides to sell the keyboard.
Korg Legacy VSTs are remarkable! Then Jamal from Gospel Musicians releasing the Blue Beast and the SY99/77 VSTs all had to help this decision. Roland Cloud sells lifetime licenses for VST gear (but they will tax your system). I'm glad to hear it, but honestly I'm waiting on a Complete MOTIF VST!! The future looks bright!!!!
Most people have midi controllers so I think for most the hardware is redundant at least the sound part so while vst seemsthe way to go for most of us not sure it's profitable for Yamaha so it will be interesting to see what they do. Roland and Korg only made older synths into vst's ie. the hardware no longer for sale so it makes business sense to turn them into vst's
@@DJIncendration they even have the manual available and install instructions, wtf lmaoooo. And then shout it has been officially released. How can such a corporation be so unprofessional. They are thugs really and dishonest. It s fookin sad, really.
