Hey everyone
Welcome again in my adventures, today we are testing the all new Yamaha MT 09 2024.
Disclaimer, if you are looking for professional review you wont find it here, I am just a guy who likes testing different bikes and share my thoughts.
I will keep it short, the bike feels almost the same as the Gen 3, flawless quickshifter and enough torque to take you to the sky.
The main changes in the 2024 model are
- screen (personally I don't like it, its to bright and its hard to see if the sun hits it)
- controls (new controls which are easier to navigate through while riding, you also have the option for two custom presets which you can scroll through. Next to those you got your standard mods)
- design + seat (the new design of the bike isn't my style, to me the bike doesn't feel anymore beefy. feels little bit more compact probably because of the slimmer tank, personally I can compare it to the 890, 790 duke. The seat is also different not anymore 1 piece but 2 piece. The seat feels also little bit more aggressive which changes the neutral gen 3 sitting position.)
Those are my thoughts, have you got the chance to test the bike and what do you think about it?

We have a bunch of negative nancies over here. This is one of the best middleweight bikes on the market today!

No one is saying that the bike nor the enige is bad. Personally I think it is kinda downgrade design wise compared to gen 3.

The seating position is definitely not as comfy as the previous gens, kinda reminded me of the z900 😅

Hmmm not as bad as on the z900. In my opinion z900 has very bad sitting position for a naked. The new 09 feels more like duke 890

@@niffow its not as aggressive on the z for sure, but it reminded me of it somehow. I had a z900 for 3 months and got rid of it, i always felt pain in my wrists after 25 minutes of riding. Its a gorgeous bike tho.

Tested one yesterday, but comming from the gen3, i'll pass this one. For me, I prefer the comfort on gen3.

It's strange to say that this mt 09 4-ger-. It's almost the same bike as the previous one, 3-ger. because I don't see it that way. only the engine remains the same, same frame. but with many changes, mainly in the geometry,.. being lower and glued to the ground,.. and people who rode both noticed good and big differences,. That's why I find it strange, nothing against the 3rd gen. mt 09, big cannon,. but this new version is even more complete. more and better electronics, etc,.. and of course, there is room for further improvement,. both in appearance and even performance,....I like this new model, I think the front optics could be better, but it's not bad at all,..otherwise I think the bike is very good,..perhaps the best in its range price and power!

I am so glad me and my father we got Mt 09 sp 2023. Just ridden it today want a bike. I really don't like the sitting position of this new Mt. If I wanted the uncomfortable sitting position I would get just the sport bike. Nice review man. Sub

I completely agree with you,I sat on an mt 09 2024 at a show and the riding position sucks.I was literally searching for the footpegs to put my feet on,they are so far behind it felt I m on the passenger pegs.I dont know why many people find the more uncomfortable position better than the neutral one the gen 3 had.Yamaha had a one of a kind signature bike,and they ruined it to please the supersport fans who want to get a naked.Every other bike like the duke,the z900 and the street triple you have to duck,now unfortunately you have to do the same thing on the mt 09...Questionable decisions made by Yamaha for sure.I wanted to get the mt 09 next summer,but I really dont want to get the gen 4.Ugly wide and pointy tank like a duke,instead of that sexy curved/muscular one on the gen 3.Bulky boxes on the handlebars for the controls,more uncomfortable riding position, +4 kilos.All they did right with the gen 3,they ve undone it with the gen 4.

Indeed… the bike doesn’t feel like a big boy bike anymore 😕
