True Sound
This is sound that only Yamaha can realise as the only audio brand in the world that handles everything from the moment a sound is created to the time it reaches the human ear. Simply close your eyes and feel the artist performing right there in front of you, and experience the profound sensation of being truly ‘Closer to the Artist.’
Sound Image
The position of the artist and the instrument, and even the delicate nuances and very atmosphere of the performance space are stunningly reproduced just as they are. The resulting soundstage is so incredibly realistic, you’ll feel as if you were watching the performance unfold right in front of you.
Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO)
Environmental factors play an important role in the sonic signature of a room, and with any type of audio. Yamaha’s own YPAO™ automatic calibration technique, refined over decades of use in Home Theatre products, has been optimised for the R-N1000A to deliver the ideal listening environment, as if you were in a professional audio listening room - without requiring any laborious manual setting adjustments. YPAO™ features precision EQ, which performs exceptionally high-precision equalization with accuracy of up to 192 kHz / 64-bit audio resolution. YPAO™ R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) works in tandem to actively control the important early reflection sounds, automatically adjusting and optimizing how the sound is heard in your room, depending on the materials of the walls and the speaker placement. Which means you can enjoy the profound sound and immersive feeling unique to Hi-Fi audio - right in your own living room.
High Precision, High Performance
The R-N1000A used the renowned SABRE ES9080Q 384 kHz / 32-bit DAC from ESS Technology to deliver superior signal to noise performance.
Low Impedance Concept
In order to thoroughly eliminate energy loss and degradation of the audio signal, the R-N1000A features thick wires for the ground connection, a critical feature that establishes the componentry as being truly premium Hi-Fi. In addition, a screw connection is adopted for the output from the power amplifier second in order to strengthen the ground, which is of upmost importance for audio quality. This all helps to give the R-N1000A increased signal-to-noise performance, making it possible to reproduce sound with full clarity.
Gold-Plated Terminals
Gold-plated terminals ensure a high quality connection that prevents signal loss. The R-N1000A have gold-plated speaker terminals and input terminals.
Full-Fledged Musical Experience From Your Smartphone
The R-N1000A is equipped with Yamaha’s original MusicCast network system. It is compatible with a variety of streaming services such as Tidal Connect, Amazon Music HD and Spotify, letting you fully enjoy exceptionally high-quality sound unique to today’s high-resolution and lossless sound sources, with complete fidelity. You can also use it to stream Apple Music with Airplay 2. And the MusicCast system lets you easily listen to music anywhere in your home by linking various MusicCast devices with just one app on your smart device.

Is there a significant sound difference between the RN 1000 and the RN 800? Is the RN 1000 worth getting over the RN 800?
@TLPCHC
@TLPCHC Месяц назад
The RN-800 is way better than the RN-600. However the RN-1000 is not as much of an upgrade over the RN-800. I guess it might come down to the speakers you own. Personally - I would buy the RN-1000.

No, it's basically an A-S801 with the dsp and the streamer. The R-N2000A is based on the A-S1200 integrated, just lift of the lid and it's obvious.
@TLPCHC

The RN-1000a is way heavier than the AS-801. Better dynamics too.

@@TLPCHC presumably there's some extra case reinforcement, as the 5/7/801 are wrapped in tin foil. The power amp section is identical though, same output transistors and caps, heatsinks etc. The 2000A is similar to the 12/22/3200 in layout. Much bigger heatsinks, mosfet output devices etc. That said I'm only going on a couple of tubers who do these under the hood reveals and photos online, not looked inside one with my own eyes, but we know that yamaha has amp designs that have not changed significantly in decades, just evolved with better quality components as their suppliers inevitably improve over time. Anyways, I suspect I'd not hear any sonic difference between my 501 and the 1000A, until I did the room correction, with a sub and then I suspect we're in a completely different ball game, with my room anyway. I am also thinking about a older A-S1000 as having heard one it's a step up from a 501, not "night and day" or any of that audio fool hyperbole, but just noticeably better all round. I suspect that the room correction and sub alignment is a bigger benefit though.

@@TLPCHC I just checked on the Yamaha website as I was comparing specs to the 1000 and my 501. The 801 is 12.1kg the 1000A is 12.3kg, the 2000A is 22.1kg. I know that the s1000 is 22kg so the 1200 will be similar. The power outputs of the 801 and 1000A are also identical, in rated 20g20kHz into 8 ohms, and also the high dynamic power specs identical. It's no bad thing, the 801 is a fine amplifier.
@TLPCHC

Yes - You are right. I got the 701 and 801 mixed up. We have not had the 801 here in NZ for 18months (maybe 2 years)

Does it allow to bi-amp ?
@TLPCHC
@TLPCHC 9 месяцев назад
It is a 2-Channel amp. Bi-Amping woudl require a 4-Channel amp. You coudl add an additional power amp and bi-amp (using the pre-out) or Bi-Wire using the two sets of binding posts

I own the Yamaha AS-1200 need I say no more… it will be best to save up and buy the AS-1200, AS-2200 or the AS-3200..
@TLPCHC
@TLPCHC 8 месяцев назад
Certainly if you use the amp in a typical stereo set up. If you stream a lot, the single box approack of the RN-1000 or RN-2000 would look superb and sound great
@hookedonhifi2570
@hookedonhifi2570 8 месяцев назад
Yes, I use mine in a typical stereo setup and I like the fact that you can get a seperate DAC, Seperate Network Player and connect it to the AS-1200… anything build in is just not for me. But yeah, if you are somebody that streams a lot (Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal etc, etc, etc) go for it. But I still think buying separates is the real HiFi 🙏🏾
@steviesteve750
@steviesteve750 7 месяцев назад
@@hookedonhifi2570the R-N2000A is basically an A-S1200 with DSP and a streamer. The room correction is game changing, the streamer meh. The network receiver will soon be cheaper than the integrated too, so it would be a no brainer decision.

This might be teh dumbest question you have heard all week, but why doesn't NZ use DAB?
@TLPCHC
@TLPCHC 7 месяцев назад
DAB has a relatively short transmission range (compared to FM). DAB suits condenced, highly populated areas (citys with millions of people) to make the transmission investment pay off. Our country is long and skinny, and only one city has more than 1m population. The capital has approx 450,000, and our largest South island city also just 450,000. It is not cost effective.
