British speakers such as Rogers, Harbeth, and Spendor also have similar sound characteristics. Rogers studio 1 is a 3-way speaker and Harbeth is a 2-way speaker. They produce slightly different sounds. You have very good ears.
Hi, great video. Thanks. Do you think this receiver has an impact on the soundstage presentation of the sound?. I'm looking to get one of this for wharferdale linton's, but i'm concern of that aspect. I had the chance to prove a fair amount of low-midtier amplifiers with this speakers, and the soundstage has been very variable. I would like to get a balanced, open, airy, wide and depth presentation of the sound with my speakers, do you think this receiver would help me achive this?
Thank you for your interest in my video. First of all, I have never used Wharferdale Linton speakers, so I can't tell you exactly. I think the YAMAHA CR-1020 receiver can comfortably deliver the Natural Sound they claim to. Of course, it depends on which speaker you pair it with. The best sound can be heard only when the speakers, amplifier, preamplifier, receiver, and cables are in perfect harmony. Try it! Even though it takes time and money, it is the joy that audiophiles pursue. 🥰 I am currently using three sets of speakers (Vintage Tannoy RED 12”, Harbeth HL Compact 7ES-3, Rogers Studio 1.) and I listen to them interchangeably with different devices.
