Its funny because I walked in the store with the serious idea of buying one, I played with it for like 40 min and then walked out without it. A little 7 segment display would make this so much better. I'd select a sound but next day would have no idea which sound out of the 1000s it is. But I think the biggest problem was the long travel button keyboard which the demo already unevenly registered with me missing notes when recording - if this had pads like MC 101 or SmplTrek I'd probably go for it, even if navigation is like a blind goose chase. I realised that since I already have bought used MC 101 this is kind of basically same-same, but slightly more annoying. Still glad you are enjoying it.
Here's my challenge to you. Spend more time on this device and then give an honest, in-depth review to your audience. Because the only thing I heard so far is that it's crap without good reasoning behind it.
If that’s what you want, I absolutely will. I’ve been using it since it came out. I’ve had it for probably a month now. And I have not been able to put this thing down for real. I love it. I think it’s great. I’m actually thinking of buying a second one… To sync the two together to add more voices. Though I’m not really sure that that makes a lot of sense in one way, but from the perspective of being able to take two devices with me and dj/jam with them live would be amazing. The only problems I have with this device are easily circumvented by adding an external keyboard to it. It doesn’t have to be a big keyboard. I just need some piano keys because the clicky clicky keys on it… They’re fine for some stuff, but if you really want to play it, you need keys. The thing sounds beautiful. It’s got all the right sounds. In my opinion it’s got a great mix of, sounds to it. The sampler is pretty good 16 seconds per sample, seven samples that can be triggered. Also, one of the tricks that I found out that’s kind of cool is that each drum can be used as an instrument and if you have an external keyboard hooked up to it. now the sequence are only does monophonic sequencing because it’s set up to be for drums however! If you use an external sequencer, like the SMPLTREK you can actually play polyphonic chords on the drum samples and you can load your own samples to it. It’s a humongous game changer. In my opinion. I think this thing is super awesome. to clarify, I have many groove boxes, I think I have a problem aside from being a RU-vidr, I buy a lot of stuff I don’t know why gas call it a habit. I don’t know what you wanna call it I don’t get funded or paid for anything by anybody it’s all my money that I spend. And then I sell the gear when I’m done with it if I don’t find it useful but I have a lot of Groovebox and there is only one other Groovebox that has really made me feel this excited about playing with it and making music with it. And that’s the SMPLTREK. I’m not gonna list things like my MPC or AKAI FORCE. They on a different level. A much better level. In my opinion they can do a lot more but if I were to take a trip for a weekend and was going to take one device with me. It would right now be the SEQTrak. But as per your request, I will give an in-depth review of this device, so that everyone can see it kind of in the way that I see it I guess. It’s not perfect, nothing is… However, I really like it a lot it’s super fun. Sounds really good wicked light easy to carry, easy to get used to in my opinion and the battery life is great.
