Yamaha TT600 - carburetor rebuild part 2 

When I did my 89 xt600 carb I soaked all the parts and the carb bodys in dollar store pine sol for a few days or more and it came out looking darn near brand new. odds are not very good if you don't strip the whole carb down to the bodys and soak it really good and replace at least the float needle and seat and every rubber o-ring and gasket you can get your hands on. I learned the hard way on the third time pullng the carbs to not put any almost 30 y/o rubber back in the carb. Took me a while and a good amount of money to get it all due to there is not a kit avalible for these carbs, you have to source everything individually, to get good parts. The choke circut channel is very hard to get clean with out a long soak, my bike sat for 13 years though so Mine was probably had alot more varnish than usual though.

Complete tear down, good soaking in naptha or any other good quality solvent and then before reassembly high pressure air through all ports lastly carb cleaner through all ports to verify open circuit for fuel/vacuum and then you will have a well done rebuild. Common sense is replace all O-rings or rubber parts sparing nothing to chance.

How did the air/fuel mixture perform with the 5 turns of the pilot screw? Did you keep it at 5 or adjusted it? Thx!
