I'm in the process of buying a 2015 yamaha sr viper xtx se 141 I've had a 97 vmax 700 triple sx for a long time with no issues but decided to get this newer one . What's all I should look at before I load it up and take it home . Thanks
Check the jack shaft bearing behind the secondary , also the play on the main drive . Grab the brake rotor if she’s loose you will need to do a lower bearing and maybe a shaft . Those are prob the main things I’ve noticed on the viper . Also boogie wheels check them all depends are you paying high money for this or low ?
@IMRgarage yea it looks to be clean it's shiny etc not dented up or paint missing so. It's red and white. I got them to order a bunch of accessories for it to. Tunnel flares the 4th boogie wheel for the back windshield bag handle bar bag rear large size storage box the yamaha gold gas cap and the battery tender that has to be installed on it . Plus a yamaha viper tarp plus the cover that goes underneath the tarp and a couple other things . I'd like to get hid bulbs for it and an exhaust but not a ridiculously loud one or one that's drony I've heard people saying. I'm the type of guy who's not hard on things I don't jump them or go in the mountains my terrain is at the farm going threw fields ditches and the odd poker derby. So
On the old pressed in bearings, is there no way to remove the bearing cover on either side with a pick to squish some grease in there? I have an old trihub laying here unused and was going to try and pick one of the rings off just to see if I could get a little bit of grease in them and keep as a backup in case I ever need.
@@IMRgarage grrr. Ok thanks. Ironically wss just going to pull the wheels apart an hr ago. I have the trihub delete done and it's way better. Note those the 2016 and up vipers have the replaceable 6004s
