Great channel, I take a lot of important information for myself. I own a Yamaha Virago 1100, 95 year of manufacture. live in Russia. Thank you for the video, continue your work.
Спасибо за вашу работу, как раз собрался снимать и отдать на порошковую покраску. Информация как это сделать есть только у тебя. Единственное, я думаю что внутреннюю обойму подшипника я не буду вытаскивать, их в России сейчас сложно купить.
Ohh mate I can't recommend it enough to get a bike lift... Changed my life completely, I'm thinking to make a review about it, but first I need to finish the bike which is on it. 😉
Great video, thank you !! I have no issues in removing it, but I am concerned about aligning / centering it when putting it back on... Question: Is there much of a process re-installing the swingarm as for 'centering' it...? Are there shoulders that automatically center it or does it require measuring...?
Your welcome.. Glad you like it. Unfortunately it is not my bike and have no idea what make the bag support bars are. In a long term plan I would like to make my own bars out of stainless steel, but that's far away. I can send you a few pictures in email if you want to , but I don't think I'll make a video about it, sorry.
Is it possible to install the wheel with the male and female splines not lined up. I just took my virago 1100 to a mechanic to get the rear tire changed, and after he install the wheel, now there's noise coming from the driveshaft and wheel where it meets the drive shaft. Sounds like a tapping , as if something is hitting the walls of the driveshaft or if there's binding. It happens when the bike is in gear while on the center stand and wheel moving without any acceleration. It does it in all the gears, and it's louder in 5th gear. Any ideas? Thanks
Hi, short answer is no. However there is a spacer inside the wheel and if he left that out it may cause some problems. Regarding the tapping noise while on center stand, if it's not continuous and fairly mild than that is considered normal. What you hear is the play between the gears from the final drive all the way back to the gearbox (especially if you just leave the bike on idle) v-twins doesn't idle super smoothly. If it is very noisy and continuous then your universal joint maybe on it's way out. You can chek how big is the play by putting it in gear, on the center stand with the engine off, just move the wheel and you'll see how much it moves back and forth before it engages the gearbox. It is very hard to tell you what could it be without actually listening to it. I recommend to join the "Virago owner's club " on Facebook and post a short video there, we will be able to help better that way.. facebook.com/groups/7272457493/?ref=share
Hi, thank you, really appreciate it. Both 1100 I have worked on needed new exhasut so I can't say for sure, but I think you should be able to do it with the exhasut still attached..
Hello. I will have a look if automatic French available or not, but me personally can't translate it as I don't speak French. I have many carburettor videos on my channel, have a look around I'm sure you'll find them.
