Check out my under 5 minute review of the 2nd generation Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4. Back when the Wolverine was still a quad. I owned a 2006 and it was the best all around atv I've ever owned. And should not have sold.
Riding clips also feature my buddy's 2007 SE which he also regrets selling.

Still have mine. Took it riding yesterday, in fact. Such a great machine and is still running like a champ in its 17th year. I wouldn't know what I'd replace it with anyway so I just keep it.

That is awesome! Glad to hear someone was smart enough to keep theirs. Really is a great quad.

Bought mine in 07 and 14 years later still a great play and work quad. Normal minimum maintenance and they last forever. Good review bud

Look, I got the 350 2006. This is more dual sport, in the sense of entry level. It'll slide, it'll scream, it'll sound like the hardest hitting thing from half a mile away. Mine will fly at 78mhp, IF U CAN FIND PARTS THAT CAN SUPPORT IT GO FOR IT. It's hard as hell to find parts but if u know what you're looking for power can be added. What you need to understand is they come torqued up stock so if you send it and power slide with stock shocks and stock tires you're done. Mine is abt to get a new carb, nice shocks and a lowering kit. When modding these things change out your shocks and lower it, started modding and the moment I sent it and power slid i tipped it. Mines already got a 3 inch longer wheel base. It's an automatic and all thought banging gears are fun this thing will make u feel like ur on a death trap. I've never had an issue with this machine and I've ran it so hard I thought I would break it. It's fun and when you top it out and let off the throttle it kinda sounds like a little turbo spooling down because the fan pushes such high rpms. Get one if u see it (gray is the best one)

I am not sure why every company stopped making midsize trail/ sporty atvs. Everything is either a tiny 50-90cc, a whimpy 250cc or something crazy like a 800cc or 1,000cc. Miss the days we had these atvs around plus the Scrambler 500, we don’t all want crazy huge and heavy trail quads like anything from Polaris or Can-Am.

erik pollnowAgreed 100% and well put. You dont want a 1000 cc 800 lb atv with a big drop or steep climb. Gravity will not be your friend. Bad things will happen. Thanks for watching.

Good review and I agree Yamaha should have never got rid of the Wolverine sport quads. They are getting hard to find along with plastics. I have an 2006 450 and a 2007 450 special edition, fun to play on.

I've bought two used Yamaha 450 Wolverine 4x4 2007's. (Think it's the same engine as the Kodiaks) Had them for almost 2 years. One had 1700 Miles. The other had 2100 Miles. Paid $2,400 for one with a plow and Winch. And the other was $2,600. They've both been great machines. Heavy front end for climbing well. And good engine compression for downhills without riding the breaks too hard.

I like your video, I converted my kodiak 700 into a sport quad 4x4 inspired by the wolverine 4x4.

I would love to have one of these as a second quad. I have a Grizzly 700 but would like a second one for friends and family, I would even ride this and let them ride the grizzly. I like how it still has lots of bottom end despite being a cvt and see you crawling with it. There is one for sale near where I live. You have my mouth watering lol.

Ross Martin I understand! There is a hole in the lineup now for sure. 500 ccs with power steering would be perfect IMO. Thanks for watching.

The problem with this quad was that it was not what people wanted. It's really no different than a 350 Bruin except it came with the Grizzly 450 motor. The biggest advantage it had over the original 350 Wolverine was part time 4WD. That was a huge feature and only available on the aftermarket for the older 350 model. Otherwise it was a disappointment as it was 40 lbs heavier, featured less suspension travel and had an auto trans. They never sold well and is why production ended after only 3 years.

You should be sble to toggle through the display screen with one of the two buttons. One toggles and the other resets the trip odometer.

@FunGoingFast
@FunGoingFast 4 года назад
chroniclounge mc Sorry Im not sure. I had mine for about 4 years. I bought it with 300 miles and put around 700 miles on it. It probably needed a valve adjustment when I sold it (didnt want to idle when ot got warm) but still had the same power and good compression.
