Yamaha XJ 900 S Diversion Engine Re-Paint 

This is a 2001 Yamaha XJ 900 S Diversion original colour red, updated by a previous owner to Yamaha Blue with full fairings, Motad s/s exhausts, and uprated front shock absorbers to reduce diving under heavy braking conditions.
I bought the bike in 2016 in a private sale from Paignton. The previous two owners lived in that area and as a consequence, being coastal, there was a fair bit of corrosion around the engine. In 2017 I decided the best thing would be to strip the engine in-situ and re-spray it with a satin black heat and fuel-proof paint.
For the most part the respray was successful although you will see some wrinkles in areas where the existing paint reacted with the new. That was sorted out with more stripping and re-spraying the affected areas.
The video is a compilation of stills and video clips taken whilst doing the work. They are not always in strict chronological order as they were really taken for record rather than film-making purposes.
