Im really liking this board a lot. i think people have NORD bias if they think the organs are clearly better on that. Combine that with the multi-samples for so many sounds that NORD goes single sample for (glocks, celeste, harp, guitar), the THREE way split function, and some FM synth engine, this thing is IMPRESSIVE!! What I'd personally love to see in an update is the ability to load user-samples. In my case, i want to sample my monosynth, and play it polyphonically, and also to save me from having to bring my synth to gigs all the time.

I bought this little beauty 3 day's ago without knowledge by my Wife . She saw it yesterday when she came into my music room and there was trouble, uhhh . I played her a lovesong on this little thing ... afterwards she decided that i can have two beauties at home . NOW I HAVE TO LEARN MORE LOVESONGS 😆...

The YC61 is amazing to reproduce Hammond sounds perfectly as none other has already made! I don't need buying a Hammond B3 or C3 used anymore to get those sounds! Thank you so much Yamaha!!!! And Now...I'm waiting for a synth with sounds of GX1. Could you guys think about it?

Damn the organ modeling sounds amazing!

All of the core sounds in this demo are excellent. The big surprizes from 4:10 are a knockout too (OMG - Mystic pad!). Looks like Yamy might have another serious instrument here. Just an opinion here, but I would have liked to hear some louder dynamics on some of the sounds - some of us like to rock too!

Some players complain about Yamaha's prices. But if you compare the new YC61 to a Nord Electro 6d you will see that Yamaha street price at $1999 and the Nord Electro 6d (61 key) at $2199. The Yamaha is less. There are features and benefits of each KB, but the most significant issue for me is Yamaha's impeccable build quality. I have been buying and using Yamaha equipment since the seventies and it ALL still works. Years on the road gigging in all kinds of weather, I NEVER had a breakdown. Never. If the YC61 provides what you need, buy it once and stop looking. Awesome sound, great features.

3:40 OMG...that DX LAYER patch sounds soooo great! Totally spot-on with the internal effects. Like from an 80's teenage love story movie. And at 4:10 David Foster and Peter Cetera send their greetings...hahaha! Since the demo doesn't show it: Is there also a CP70/80 Electric Grand Piano patch inside?

I'd buy this just for the FM. i wish yamaha would release a new 8 op FM synth in the $1000 range or a rack.

[This is the market equivalent of a mic drop. Yamaha just showed the competition how it’s done right.] *UPDATE 5/31/20 Finally got a YC61 a couple of weeks ago. The sounds are superb! But alas, the Leslie sim is probably the worst out there. There’s very little stereo separation, and no way to adjust it. A HUGE disappointment for an otherwise great board in a high end price category.

Yamaha: When are you going to send some more love and attention to your Reface series? You have a very unique product line in them, and I feel you've sort of orphaned them. I heard about them rather late, and I have come to feel that they were not properly promoted. You finally gave keyboardists a quality, packable, take-anywhere line of instruments. I feel they should be dusted off, be given a fresh review by Yamaha and updated while incorporating feedback. I have various ideas (tweaks) I'd love to share, and I'm sure others do, too. Also, do you know you have a highly accomplished and incredibly talented user here on RU-vid who regularly uses the Reface CP for location composing and incorporates in some of her videos? Her name is Nahre Sol.

YAMAHA YC 61 73 88 There is no vibrato effect in the effect unit. This is the main effect of the electric piano keyboard , It must be available in the Nord keyboard effect unit, but the Yamaha does not. I decided to replace the Nord to the Yamaha but found this problem. Is it possible to upgrade the system to add a vibrato effect in the future? Considering whether to buy nord or yamaha

The sounds are nice, but the very organist necessity two keyboard of 61, when this instruments have two keyboard it’s fantastic! Up the organ and down a pad or electric piano...... the technician of left and right hands it’s fondamentale!

I have a Yamaha Genos, which I find incredible and very useful since I do a lot of composing and arranging. The Yamaha YC-61 caught my eye due to its organ engine but are the other sound samples the same as the Genos?

I thought great----an expanded Reface with full size keys---and then I saw the price. Sheeesh...

Nord keyboards lookin' sick!

Just had a look at the manual and there is no mention of temperaments or micro tuning. I assume this is therefore fixed to 12-TET. Not allowing it to be tuned to meantone or any historic temperament makes me very sad.

I wish it had separate stereo outs for each of three different tone sections. I'd like to at least be able to to run the organ out separately through my Ventilator.

Kinda reminds me of the new vox continental, except they missed the obvious by making this a 61key.

Are there any mounts for a music stand on the YC61? I don't see any, there is no music stand listed as an accessory, and no reference to one in the user manual. Bummer for those of us that play from lead sheets, Real books, or take music lessons.

Sounds a lot better than the CP88... I am going crazy? Because I thought they would be the same
