Follow along while we disassemble my Scion IQ with a blown motor, and tear apart a perfectly good running and driving 2019 Yamaha YXZ side by side. All of this, so we can keep the vision of the Scion ripping in the desert, as intended. Along the way, I almost piled the YXZ, lawn darting it while testing it's jumping capabilities. Also, we find a little surprise in the vehicle while tearing it apart. Watch the episode to see what we found...

Shocks are valved and new springs will make a big difference. The Yxz is a fun car.

As you know…YXZs aren’t the best at jumping. A lot of YXZ owners will hang a spare tire over the rear of the car to get the center of gravity as far back as possible. As you’re building this, I’d keep this in mind. Shock Therapy’s RU-vid channel has a great video explaining the shortcomings of the YXZ design. Excited for the build!

I am his son, and recently we shock tuned the car, and we were able to hit jumps and hit whoops at 80mph without any issues

Will show video soon, did some tuning, high speed jumps are good, low speed hits suck. I will watch the shock therapy video though for sure.

Audio is coming from only the right. Under audio you should "fill the left with right" so that it comes out of both speakers. Test it by wearing a pair of headphones. - I think this is a great idea, cant wait to see it finished

Hell yeah, I have been wanting to do the same thing with a miata cause it's the same wheelbase as the yxz and the honda talon r, and neither of those are cvt either which makes them so much better! Sub'd!

Man, same platform as the yaris basically, which is the same platform as the prius c and I've gotten 430xxx miles out of my last prius c before I wrecked it. I wonder how hard a prius c engine swap would be and if you could even fit the hybrid battery in the hatch
