Great reaction. You touched on a very important point. Music is about enjoying and having fun. It's true that dexterity and technical refinement can also be sources of fun. However, I'd prefer to see enjoyment above all, possibly enhanced by technical elements, intricate melodies and composition, but not necessary dependent on these elements to be fun. The great thing about Yamandu is that he seems to be able to layer complexity and simplicity masterfully, it's up to the listener to tune into what part they enjoy the most.

Thanks for making him a little more famous ! In the same style you should watch the video of Samois 2010 by Myrddin De Cauter, he's an underestimated genious too!!

The Spanish influence is that becausa Yamandu is a gaúcho(southern Brazilian), and he has strong tradicional influences. If you want to listen a bit more of our tradicional roots I would suggest you to listen: milonga abaixo de mau tempo - César Oliveira e Rogério Melo
