On this property, the lawn on the side yard had risen to above the foundation line, and the neighbor's property sloped toward the house, leading to flooding and leaking water into the house during a storm. The solution here was to remove a lot of the soil (about 20 tons worth!) and regrade so that the ground sloped AWAY from the foundation and into a swale, where we installed drainage to whisk that water away quickly.
