Thank you for this, I really didn't want to waste my time watching this. Once I found out that Rin and Sesshomaru were together it was a huge turn off, I thought about giving it a chance, but you guys pretty much told me. "You ain't missing anything if you don't watch it." And I thank you for that!
I grew up with Inuyasha. And I'm currently watching it for the first time since I was a kid. And I'm almost done. I did hear that Yashime is mid. But thats ok. For me personally I'm just happy to see the end result of everyones relationships from rhe original show. Except Rin and Sesshomaru's. That shouldn't be a thing.
Agree with majority of everything stated. Yashahime failed to live up to the hype for a multitude of reasons. I feel like the real nail in the coffin was making sessr/n “canon”. It couldve been a halfway decent series without turning one of the most beloved characters into a gr**mer. Complete assassination of his character bc now I can no longer browse content about him without seeing the name “ped0maru” or his toxic relationship with r/n being heavily romanticized by shippers. Sesshomaru developing compassion for humans is one thing but to make him not only “fall in love” (and I say that loosely bc none of his actions in YH suggests that he truly loves r/n or sees her as his equal) but to also have half demon kids is so ooc for him, like he literally still looks down on inuyasha for being one so it makes absolutely no sense! Since Rumiko didnt write it, I’m not gonna acknowledge YH as a sequel for my own piece of mind and sanity
I agree. Many fans feel the same about Sesshomaru in Yashahime. It's understandable to want to separate the original series from Yashahime for peace of mind.
