The manga which this anime is based on is called “Twittering Birds Never Fly” (Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai). It was written and illustrated by Kou Yoneda. There are sequels / spinoffs called “Don't Stay Gold” (2008) and “Though They Drift, They Do Not Sink, But Nor Do They Sing” (2009)

I don't know who on earth these characters are but I'm crying now.

I love this movie I watch it and read the manga since I don't really like the ending and I feel there so much more to the story, but the manga is also keep me hung in the ending, hopefully they released the next volume. This is a must watch and also read the manga its worth it to read.

I read the manga halfway prolly til someone shot him twice then I forget the manga name. Then suddenly this pop out after a month. I never knew they have a movie of this story and I do hope they both would be together since Doumeki has a feeling for him. I didn’t know he will die from the shot 😢 I thought there’s more after that chapter. When I see the movie it end up with him dying
