Today is February 9, 2024 and I have just returned from a visit with the Gunsmithing program folks at YC. I requested, and was given a tour of the shop, both the 1st year and the 2nd year sides, AND I met Matt ! What a class program and a class guy ! Ive put in my application and submitted the paperwork required to attend, hopefully, in the Fall term of 2024.

Jeremiah, On one of the Handloading segments would you consider getting one the great shooter/reloader/bullet casters demonstrate their technique for casting the big 45 cal bullets used in BPCR competition. Dave Gullo or Steve Brooks as championship competitors and master casters come to mind.
@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV 5 месяцев назад
I would love to and we did have a bullet casting 101 video here on RU-vid but sadly they removed it for some reason so as a result we have not done anything related to bullet casting and how to do so. It is sad, it would be really nice to be able to post that information up here on RU-vid. We do sell a DVD through Wolfe Publishing Co online store, Wolfe outdoor sports but RU-vid will sadly not allow such content. Great question and suggestion though we greatly appreciate it! --Jeremiah

Would it be possible to do a masters class Handloader magazine article demonstrating how one of the championship BPCR shooters casts their match winning bullets, including mould handling, alloy, sizing and lube. People like Dave Gullo, Steve Brooks and Mike Venturino to name a just a few. @@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV

@@JeffHenry-uo1nz As far as the articles go I know Mike Venturino has covered his bullet casting in Handloader magazine before we also have our SPG Black Powder Primer which is more of an introduction to bullet casting. I know in Handloader issue No. 271 Mike Venturino did a bullet casting basics article. Starting In Handloader issue No. 302-310 Mike did a multi part series on bullet casting and covers a great many details on the subject. I would be more open to covering it if we hadn't already extensively covered the subject fairly recently. Thank you for your feedback though we do take all of these things very seriously and they really help us create more content and who knows if enough other people ask about it and want it then we can certainly do that in the future. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment back! --Jeremiah

Do you recommend lapping the scope rings, before installing the scope? I have developed that habit, and notice less distortion on the scope internally, plus the fasteners do not try to loosen, even with Loctite over time.
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us 6 месяцев назад
Lapping is beneficial this optic and rings were later swapped out for the Swarovski with appropriate height Talley light weight scope bases.

That is a typo the giveaway ends April 12th in 28 days from when I made this comment. I apologize for the confusion and it has since been corrected! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

Does it matter which action screw you tighten first? Should a guy tighten each one a little bit until you get to your torque specs?
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us 6 месяцев назад
Due to editing you don’t get to see us gradually increase torque on each screw until we reached final torque.

Great! Did you swap out the Leupold for the Zeiss for weight?
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us
@AlomaWilkerson-vd4us 6 месяцев назад
Actually it was swapped out with a Swarovski 6i series. Rifle made weight with the Leupold (which was on hand for testiing)

That is not an easy question to answer it really depends on your rifle, the max OAL is 2.800" I would suggest starting there and working down from there or maybe even a couple of tenths over max again depending on your rifle's chamber. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

Thank you for answering that! We actually just finished filming it currently the gun is averaging about .58 MOA once we finish editing the video will be posted likely sometime in the next 15 to 20 days. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
