Jeremiah explains our collaboration with the Yavapai College Gunsmithing school. We built a custom 7mm PRC. This is part one of a three part build series. Then we put the rifle through its paces and give you a chance to win. To find out how you can own this rifle and enter, go to www.handloadermagazine.com. Stay tuned for more.

An incredible amount of work goes into quality workmanship. Yes it's worth it. Made in the USA

That is something to be proud of for sure, not enough things are made in the USA these days and we feel it's important to showcase such talent and programs that promote such things. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

Thats sure a lot easier to float a barrel than a dowel wrapped in sand paper!

Ha ha most definitely! They certainly know what they are doing over there, it's a great program and a better alternative than a lot of the others being promoted these days. Which is why we wanted to do this series on them. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

It really is a great program and just from filming this series we learned quite a bit, there is a lot that goes into making an accurate rifle and the classroom and shop is filled with knowledgeable folks. They turn out some mighty fine looking firearms too. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

A video on loads for a Norwegian Krags would be cool. Loads for 6.5x55 and the post war 8x57 conversion krags.

Great content.... but always wonder what happens if the release agent is NOT applying thoroughly and bonds to the bedding compound? How does one pull apart it from the bedding? Thanks!
@allenmagarrell7417
@allenmagarrell7417 7 месяцев назад
Good question…. Wax or some kind of release agent Is essential when bedding a rifle. If you do not apply a quality, release agent, more than likely, you’re going to glue the rifle into the stock also, more than likely damaging the stock beyond repair when you finally do get the barreled action out.

Allen said it well and that is why this program is so great they teach you how to do it correctly and turn out some great gunsmiths as well. It is certainly something you don't want to make a mistake on. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

I am seriously confused. Why bed a free floating barrel and barely bed any of the action? That seems contrary to almost everything I have ever seen.
