That's amazing and it's similar to the way Chinese arts transferred weapons techniques to the empty hand. But it's modern too. Many traditional arts wouldn't have the high kicks or spinning kicks. It's quite interesting.
I think the founder of Yaw Yan was a kick boxer during the 70s who is a kicker as his tendency is to attack or defend by means of kicking his legs. It means that he is a natural kicker; and so the martial arts he founded was more of a kicking arts coupled with hand strikes. YY has more resemblance on TKD. What about Sikaran?
Pinoys are short, that's why its logical for kicking strikes in long range/distance. And again, most of its strikes came from Arnis that's why its still unique to filipino identity.
