YCSO Officer Involved Shooting Dash Cam Video (EDITED) 

For anyone saying that was unjustified. The guy literally tried to run the officer over it is completely justified to stop a dangerous suspect who is endangering everyone in their path

The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Tyshawn Malik Benjamin was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. He died later that night.

Great job Deputy’s!! That criminal recklessly endangered the lives of hundreds of people even before he tried to murder you with his car.

Thank you for all you do YCSO. It's so easy to armchair situations from the comfort of our home. I'm so thankful that our officers were able to go home yesterday. Prayers over the officers involved emotionally and physically. Taking another life always has trauma ripples. Prayers over the family that lost their loved one. Crime always has a cost.

That officer was well TRAINED. Didn't fire until beyond a reasonable doubt, the criminal used his car as a weapon.

As usual with these videos, all the experts show-up and give their great experienced knowledge of how it should have been done. I thank those spectators for their thanklessness.

It is always a bad decision to get out of the car when the car is headed right at the same door you are exiting. Officer is very lucky he did not get crushed between the cars. Shooting was totally justified.

Watching this is like watching Keystone Cops. Leaving a fleeing suspect room to continue when you clearly have an opportunity to physically block the vehicle, as these deputies did on multiple occasions, is simply bad policy. I don't know if it's the training, the policy or the deputies' decision, so I'm not casting blame. I'm merely stating my opinion based on observation.

Yes, mistakes appear to have been made by police all through the chase, but the minute that suspect hits the accelerator and hits a deputy that hard, it's fair to say shots were justified.

Obviously it's too easy judging things sitting here, but had Cpl. Frame just stopped right behind the perp's car, so it gets immobilized this may have ended differently. The department is perhaps low on maintenance budget as he clearly was making sure his cruiser gets as little damage as possible. Otherwise I'm glad no one else got hurt..

To the total morons that said the cop shouldn't have gotten out with the car still moving. Um...last I checked the car was blocked in or so the officer thought. The drive did however see a cop in front of him with a gun aimed at him and took off. Well duh. In case you didn't know it....a car is considered a deadly weapon. How many people argue with a car and win? The way that person was driving, he put the lives of everyone around him in danger. He could have killed, maimed or injured any or all of them. That person had to be stopped. People forget that the world doesn't revolve around them alone. And truth be told most of these selfish people are losers to begin with. They don't live by the laws that most honest people do. They don't have a driver's license or ID, insurance or registration for those vehicles and lots of times the vehicle is stolen so they don't care. If you or one of your family members had been killed or injured by that person, I bet you'd be the first one to scream that the law should have taken him off the road.

No sympathy for that devil, glad all Law enforcement and law abiding citizens are OK.

All the officers could use training with their pursuit skills. Had him in position several times to wreak him and also to trap him. Glad they got him without any civilians or officers being seriously injured.

Perhaps could have boxed him in earlier, but it's clear enough this guy was a dead-end-er no matter what you tried. After the clear vehicular assault, I'm not sure I would have stopped after 3 shots. Perhaps what the officer saw in the car helped him stop.

That could've been over at the 16-second mark. Ram the vehicle and potentially prevent a pursuit.

Well when you use a vehicle as a deadly weapon thats whats gonna happen to anyone..I mean had he not shot the suspect would have probably kept gassing it to run him over.
