We are proud of the strength and resilience demonstrated by our sailors and the love and support received from our extended Navy family. We are facing some serious challenges right now and we have a lot of work ahead of us.
Throughout our history, our sailors have persevered in the face of adversity. Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice as we navigate into the future and build our fleet. We should all be extremely proud of what we have achieved this past year! #BravoZulu

If I was a young man again, I'd so do the 1-year term. I'm hinting/encouraging for my two sons to look into this with the RCN.

Wish they'd stop naming ships after people. Strong work on a packed, challenging, ongoing pandemic year.

Different classes of ships have different naming categories. For example the City Class (commonly known as the Halifax class) are all named after Canadian cities, ie HMCS Monteal, or HMCS Calgary The AOPS are all named after prominent or esteemed Canadian naval officers. (And since the AOPS have been coming online lately, that's why we hear a lot of ships being named after ppl)

But what’s the problem with it we need ships so why not name it after important military officers

why are so many members smiling in this video? It's a frustrating life with many sacrifices that are never appreciated or acknowledged. Advancement is too political and depends on your demographics. Don't join until the leadership from the top on down appreciate you and appreciate your demographic that does the hard work.
