This is my favorite Gaiman! I love neil's humor and a more compact story w different types of characters whose paths all end up crossing and needing one another. I think his writing really shines in this one. Only Ocean was close to being just as good in my opinion, which is funny because they're both wildly different
I love that The Year of Gaiman got me to go back and reread all these books, Anansi Boys in particular. Thank you!! BTW - that sweater is perfect for this video!!! Chef’s kiss!
Oh weird I just listen to this and I really like Neil’s narration 🎉 but my favorite Neil story is, Neverwhere! Totes meh goats! It’s a fantastic story! 😮😊
Loved Anansi Boys so much when I read it. The humor hit all the right notes for me. I agree. American Gods is definitely the more impressive book but I loved the Anansi Boys taught me about a religion / deity that (even though he is in AG) we get more background to him in AB. Both are highly enjoyable but I am grabbing AB when I want something to make me laugh.
Great analysis, as usual, about a book that I don't really remember, I just know that I enjoyed but not that much as American Gods, so yeah, also not my favorite Gaiman but still a good one.
It has been ages since I read both American Gods and Anansi Boys and while I don't really remember why, I do remember that I liked Anansi Boys more. I should do a re-read to see if that is still true.
