Overview of the Yeavely IPSC Pistol match shot in the summer of 2021. This match was shot to UKPSA LBP rules which is an IPSC region-specific discipline. Due to the nature of firearms laws in the UK only pistols that have a barrel longer than 12" and that are over 24" in total length can be owned on a normal Firearms Certificate.

Watching this my first thought was what a sad shadow of the once great shooting discipline I used to compete in.....then I thought good on you guys for making the best of what we are sadly now left with in this country......really enjoyed watching .......adapt and survive 👍😎

Great to see some video. Wish I’d been well enough to shoot it. The next one will be even more dynamic with more steel, bobbers, MAX TRAPS, doors and even more options built in so that there are different ways to make your stage plans.

Niiice!, these were all .22lr pistol and revolvers correct?, is there a governement requirement on the overall lenght of the firearm?

Yeah, at least on the UK mainland. In order to be Section 1 (with the exception of muzzle loaders) a firearm must have minimum of a 12" barrel, and a minimum OA length of 24". Self loading rifles have to be .22RF, though revolvers can be anything.

12" barrel and 24" overall length, semi-auto .22 and fullbore revolvers. The overall length is achieved by adding a counterbalance rod to the bottom of the grip which doesn't interfere with drawing or aiming. I'm shooting a Walther Gold Cup and it feels just the same as my old Colt Commander from back in the day. (But lighter and with less bang :( )

Are we only restricted to long barrel .22 pistols here in the UK? I see some shooters seems to have a cylinder on their barrel is it just to make it looks a little better or is it a suppresseor?

The cylinder is mainly just for looks and serves no function other than to hide the long barrel. Some LBP's do have integrated suppressors, but they tend not to work very well so few people have or use them.
