It's not a coincidence. Both Yelan and Xiao are a *parallel* to each other. They both lost people dear to to them, Yelan lost her team to the Abyss and Xiao lost his family to the Karmic debt. And only they remained. Both survivors plagued wirh survivors-guilt, keeping an cold front to keep others at arms's lenght and both are vigilantes that are willing to go any lenght to protect their nation. And as well, a _parallel_ to Bosacius and Boyang's story. Taking account that one is a Yaksha and other is his predecessor, it's shows how history repeat itself. Both human and adeptus, working together to get out a difficult situation. Just like Bosacius and Boyang's power sealed away the Chasm, Yelan and Xiao's arts helped them to escape. After their experience on the Chasm, both Xiao and Yelan gained something new --- closure and new perspective. For Yelan, all these stunts of dangers and thrill seeking were doing nothing to fill her own inner emptiness --- and now she that discovered what hapanned 500 years ago, Yelan understood her role on life. As for Xiao, he managed to fullfil his promise with his brother and finally express all those bottled-up feelings, and now can start a path of self-healing and start to enjoy life. As Xiao said, heroes should look out for each other.
Small point to add, but despite being "vigilantes" they still have loyalty and are contracted in some way or another to two of liyue's top authority figures, zhongli/morax for the adepti and ningguang for the humans (kind of cool that theyre both geo too)
I love this running theme through all the hydro characters of an illusory public image that hides their true selves. Yelan's stoic, cold, distant and professional image that hides her regret over losing her past companions and her fear of the same happening in the future. Ayato and his calm and polite demeanor, an astute schemer who actually is a goofball that likes making fun of others and pulling pranks. Kokomi's diligent, strategic and relentless persona as High Priestess and Leader of the Resistance, when she's actually a shy introvert bookworm that overthinks too many things. Tartaglia's bratty fighter looks while being protective of his family. Xingqiu's smart, poised and chivalrous appearance while being a prank-pulling nerd. Barbara's optimistic, cute and outgoing idol image while actually having many complexes and crippling self-doubt. And Mona's dignified, humble and ascetic astrologer life while she's actually a poor-ass bad at money management pretentious (but lovable) witch.
In fact all the elements have a running theme that's like the essence of their element. The archons might have their own concept, but like Ei and Makoto, the concept doesn't equal the essence of the element. Anemo is communication, a message to transmit. Geo is determination, a set path to walk, sometimes stubbornly. Electro is idealization, an objective to strive for. Dendro, for the very little we've seen is adaptation, making the best with what you have. Hydro is illusion or perfection, a false image to keep. Pyro is passion, a deep devotion for something. And Cryo is redemption, a regret or a shortcoming to make up for.
@@Allyana_Samael Maybe.. maybe not.. Lisa has been the best student of her time in Sumeru Academia.. strived to learn the truth while loosing half of her life possibly .
A slightly different suggestion; if what she fears is the deaths of her traveling companions, perhaps she feared that opening the door would immediately cause their deaths or harm them in some way, rather than merely exposing her fear to them or influencing their hopes of escaping. The door conjured illusions of distant parties because those were the strongest fears available, but perhaps it might have shown new abilities if it were given closer available material to work with.
Yelan's Vision story was exactly what I thought of when she gave her reasoning to not go through the door. It was also technically true as it was a Big Liyue Secret. But it was also very personal for Yelan.
I’m a sucker for camera angles telling you a story instead of being explicitly told everything you need to know. It just shows how creative Hoyoverse can get even when not using pre-rendered cutscenes
I always felt like Yelan is Genshin’s version of MCU Black Widow - and I was even more convinced after seeing her quest and reading her backstory. She knew what was behind that door and the Perilous Trail Quest did a great job of hinting at that fear. Easily one of my fav characters in Genshin.
being the current strongest and most flexible 5 star at C0 and at C6 compare to other characters. highly intelligent and bold in design and personality yet has a serious complex depth to her character compare to other female characters. perfect for more mature seinen audience as genshin should i honestlycouldn't ask a more well made character than she already is honestly. yelan has step up the game for every future character in the genshin. looking forward to C6 her in her rerun as a low spender.
plus she is sexy in her attacks. especially after the last string of her aa. And she outdamages an already broken hydro support. Plus she is easy to build. A perfect character in this boring patch
Lets be honest, Behind Piamons door wouldn't have been something epic, it would have just been a food stand that said free samples, then when she goes to get one, they say they are all out 😅
Fear can make u do things. Yet one day, ultimately you must face it. Because running won’t save you for long. And that’s true. It will not be an easy task to do,yet,it something all must overcome with due time regardless.
Nice, I think you got it pretty right but you just dismissed an important observation. She later went back into the domain to check alone and found the "magical device" (fantastical compass) but couldn't pick it up. Maybe it was true that the compass was mixed with her current companion's corpses or maybe it wasn't.
Here for the algorithm :) Yeah, i just recently read her "about her vision" story entry about a few days ago after unlocking it and it immediately clicked in my brain that it might be what's behind that door for her.. no wonder she had that look when she realized what Xiao was about to do After watching this, this form of story-telling where they scatter bits of information everywhere really reminded me of how they did it with Honkai Impact.. you'd really have to dig around and read the entries in the other game modes and stuff to get the full picture 😅
Yelan quest spoiler; . . . . . (Personal theory) Now to think about it, it kinda make sense when you sees how her companions behaves in her story quest, they seem so close, much like siblings that Yelan took care of It's the fact that they were probably didn't face a strong danger that can cost their life directly (shown with how selective she can be, she only lets her people to stalk people that doesn't seem to be a danger that could overpower her team, she chose yupei (the muscle) to go instead of others to blackcliff forge as a backup), Yelan from the start always works alone, in the chasm, in the times where they would visit domain, only when it doesn't seem to be too dangerous, she would allow her team to go (and with mileliths)) I do sound kind of inconsistent, however i kind of believe she's very protective of them, and you can compare it to Ayato's shumatsuban, whose behavior is clean and conservative
The shumatsuban already feels cold and distant, perhaps from so many loss their faced This is kind of why i believe that Yelan didn't seem to let her current team to go to danger directly, its always her, and why their behavior is just like "bunch of friends with similiar interest"
Now I kind of wish I pulled for Yelan. When I tried Yelan, she was so good, even though I’m bad at using bow characters. She makes me want to use her because of her play style. That’s why I chose her to move on in the events of Perilous Trail. I also wish I had her because her lore is very interesting and her kit works well with my characters. She made me like using bow characters too. Now that I think about this theory, it makes sense for me. Even though I don’t have her and can’t read her character story, it all makes sense. And her personality adds with her lore too. Yelan surely is something. HoYoverse really knows how to include little details that first seems trivial but has meaning to it once you notice. I will be watching more of your videos since I am interested in theories, especially when it all adds up.
Her fear was all of her current teammates i.e. traveller, Yanfei, Itto, Kuki could die in the chasm and if she has opened the door she would have seen their dead bodies or something.
It's absolutely the truth. We often misinterpret Yelan because of her superficial stuff. In that short moment, when she tried to stop Xiao, we saw the face of the real Yelan.
@@TeyvatHistoria Easy fix. Just have people to turn off and on their bell icon. You’re still doing incredibly well though dude. Holding down a full time job while running a 100k+ subscriber count RU-vid channel is an impressive feat. And given what we’ve seen with those update droughts with Genshin, it’s probably the smarter choice to just keep this as your hobby. But you already knew that.
I think you were half correct. If I remember correctly, the door shows you not your current greatest fears but rather the unpleasant memories you wished you never had to face again. This is why the door showed Kuki an old conversation with her mother instead of seeing "herself" working as a shrine maiden which is probably her greatest fear. But like your theory, I also think it was about her vision story. Yelan was trying to hide behind that door was her comrades she lost before she got her vision. She didn't want to relive their deaths, and she didn't want the Traveler and the others to see who she failed to save.
I do believe that direct verbiage specified that what was being shown was not past events. This took place after Yanfei mentioned that the civil litigation she saw was not one she ever witnessed or worked on, but rather was an example of one she would hate.
@@TeyvatHistoria Looking at past streams and clips, to quote Yanfei on what she replied to Paimon when she was asked, "Who were they?" she said (in EN): "[they were] no one in particular, but it is a prime example of the many difficult civil cases that I've had trouble handling before." which I think she meant that they were people of no importance. Still, they were indeed people from civil cases she had trouble handling in the past. I also believe that this would be more consistent with the domain since everything that we encountered after the door trap was memories from the past, such as the treasure hoarders from Yanfei's memories, the Fatui from Yelan's, and a mirror image of Bosacious (a memory/recording of the domain?) fought by Xiao.
Is it possible to make ur audio louder? It always sounds like ur whispering. Better for it to be loud and I adjust ur volume vs me trying to turn the volume up and its already maxed
If paimon opened the door, it would just open up to celestia xdxdxd, Door opens- Unknown god shows- “hi” Everyone- 0_0 Paimon- she’s a runner , she’s a trackstar* 27th comment 384th like
I have question, it's unrelated to the chasm quest. Where do you think the Statue of the Seven from the "We will be reunited" quest originally belonged? Cuz so with the parts of Teyvat that is available, I don't see were it could've been place. Please tell me your opinion since I really curious :)
Hmm, It is a mondstadt statue, so it may be from an unreleased part of mondstadt that we have yet to see. There’s still dorman port & the supposed dandelion sea that have been referenced in game, perhaps we’ll get future sub areas for mondstadt outside of dragonspine?
One of the theories is that it was on Cape Oath, the place that currently has the Gate in the sky that brings you to Musk Reef - where the Portal to the Spiral Abyss lies. The fact that there are ruins on the ground just below the Gate reinforces the idea that the Abyss Order went out of the Abyss, created a shortcut to the main entrance to their domain and snagged the Statue that was right under the shortcut itself, leaving the rubble behind. Of course nothing of this is confirmed.
Hay buddy iv been away from genshin for 5 or 6 months and I was lv 58 so I definitely not a noob. Was wandering has anything changed ? Wanting to play but not if it the same old thing
