This song is one of the iTunes bonus tracks for the album 'Paper Walls,' which lists Katy Perry on vocals for 'How I Go (Live and Acoustic).' The studio version ('Lights and Sounds') features Natalie Maines.
@mfernandoff Track 13 from Lights and Sounds was not even created yet. this is from the Paper Walls b-side. Before Katy Perry became big she was sent by their record company to go preform with them so she could see what a huge show would be like. She sounds different because this was a hella long time ago.
Cliff Alba is right. Natalie Maines is the original singer for it, but Katy Perry has done a live show with them before where she was the singer instead.
@SickSilckMan Thanks for the correcting(: What I meant to say was that on the album it wasn't, but in this it isn't. I was really tired when I commented!
As much as i love yellowcard that is not true. This was recorded in 2007 at that time yellowcard and katy perry were both signed to capitol records. For this show they needed a female signer and asked capitol if that for one. They gave them Katy she was going to be a star regardless or weather or not she sang with yellowcard or not. Look up yellocards E.T cover Ryan talks about this at the end.
@etdizzle indeed there is a live performance of YC and katy perry, its true its a fact. I've done a number of music studies and i van assure you that the voice in this song is not katy perry. Voices get trained and more advanced but they do not change, if you compare this voice to the dixie chicks singer you will find that it is the same although a few octaves lower, probably due to the fact that live singing is really really really hard.
