Zombie Pigmen only attack if you attack first, leave them alone and they'll leave you alone, same with spiders but only in day time for spiders.

Bubs is totally right; Zombie Pigmen are non-aggressive (they won't attack you) unless you attack them. If you attack them, however, every Zombie Pigmen will attack you.
