Stuff like that and the constant forgetting about Tera makes me wonder if he will ever reach top 1. Stuff like that should not be a thing at this level
@@RuijsNLHe's literally been 1 game away from #1 before. I think you're putting the top player on too much of a pedestal. They're the best of the best, but they're also human.
goddamn, that Volcanion REALLY didn't want you to setup with the consistent burn on Altaria but you played this extremely well and getting that win must have felt more satisfying than it sounded xD
Ursaluna-Bloodmoon might actually be even stronger in Random Battles because of the way EVs are distributed evenly for every Pokemon. Interesting effect this has on the meta is that bulky set-up Pokemon are much better than they would be otherwise because overall damage output is lower allowing more opportunities where setting up is safe. This also pushes some bad Pokemon like Tropius just over the edge where they become just bulky enough to be a complete game ender.
It def is but all it takes is grinding through games. I hadn't really played Pokemon since Gen 6 until earlier this year. Between watching these vids and just grinding through games I'm pretty consistently in the high 1700s despite never really having seen anything from Gen 7-9 aside from like one casual playthrough of sword. The main thing that gets me is weird edge cases like not being able to sleep in electric terrain. Also I highly recommend the randbats chrome extensions. There's one that shows possible moves and one that runs calculations for you. Very nice tools to have
@@rylandnewbyI ain’t played showdown since gen 7. I was just stealing teams and chilling in the 1600s in ou. Won a couple of the showdown tournaments they run. It’s a fun experience. I prefer the lower tiers for some reason
@@Yerocco I love the lower tiers too. I like stealing teams from time to time, but mostly to get new ideas. I had a great time laddering to 1500 elo in NU/PU with my signature Mixed Moxie Honchkrow set. It feels so good owning people with a creative set.
I just finished two weeks of pure (and slightly self-inflicted due to poor time management) crunch time for university work, and I genuinely cannot tell you how happy I am to have this video pop up for me. Perfect predict as always dude. ❤
@@Uh_khakis that sucks my friend. To offer some advice in case it helps, I can only recommend that you take the breaks you need because they make you more efficient. And if you're feeling unable to do what you need to, then cut 'need' out of it. Our brains don't like need that much. They're much better with 'can.' "I need to get this done" is vague and it's stressful. It can motivate short bursts, but when you need to do many day's worth of work, with breaks in the middle, you might start wanting to avoid it. "I can work on this next" is directional, and it turns a stressing statement into a helpful and empowering one: you have an option available. You're choosing for yourself. That's a stronger motivator than need a lot of the time. I hope any of that might be useful, but more importantly I wish you luck in your crunch!
For that Frosmoth ice beam turn, you had combined odds of 50.45% to crit, ohko, and/or get an at least one turn freeze, so the kill there was very slightly in your favor, no matter what happened.
That Steam Eruption burning every single time it hit was insane. But then again, Focus Miss's chance to land seems to match in my games, statistically speaking
How do you get that overlay with the possible moves and the damage calculator? I’ve been getting into random showdown matches recently and I keep getting beaten by movesets I can’t predict and having to guess if a move will kill or not just from my basic understanding of Pokémon stats
5:40 - "Ursaluna was not balanced for 6v6, it was balanced for VGC and 3v3" - honest question, how is it more balanced in 3v3? If anything I'd guess it'd be stronger there since it's really hard to stop it getting KOs and when you do you're removing proportionally more of your opponent's options, but I know next to nothing about 3v3.
Does anyone know why the randbats tooltip doesn’t do calcs for moves anymore? It also doesn’t show type weaknesses and stuff which isn’t important but does feel weird.
