John Homes no shit its not gonna last. like they don’t know that? maybe she just wanted to have her hair done for a few days. ??? its not any of your business anyway
John Homes theres many different ways to get your hair done. In fact theres an infinite amount of hair styles to choose from regardless of your hair type. No one ever said her hair type was inferior- what was said was that the client chose a particular style. Thats what getting your hair done means just choosing a style in which to wear your hair. The only one here that said she had inferior hair was you, how about you take your racism elsewhere
John Homes no? she went to the salon and paid to get her hair into a different style. that’s getting her hair done. shut the fuck up dude this is not as deep as you think it is
@@Altorac hey I completely agree but he didn't say anything about race... You brought race into the argument which makes you racist for assuming he was talking about race 😞🤐
Ugh I ask for an inch at TOP and she cuts about 4 inches off! Not lying! Every SINGLE TIME. I don’t go to the hairdressers any more. She cuts off so much I literally cried lol
@Vik Toria If you have curly hair ur hair can be long it’s just since it’s so much curls it makes it look short but u still have lots and loads of hair.
Thats why i hate curly hair. But everyone tells me they wish they had my hair because its indian curly hair and long Im the only one in my family who hates curly hair and everyone else loves it for some reason I wanted my hair short and straight just like the girl in the video which is really nice haha The mother did such an amazing job. Curly or straight. Amazing
It was interesting though, wasn't it? I have the straightest hair you could have and I was fascinated how beautiful it turned out. And, being I can't sit still very long, I thank the Good Lord I don't have to endure it. I refused perms years and years ago.😏
The shine is amazing!!! As a 4C girl I appreciate the way you handled her hair with such gentleness. Not every stylist knows how to handle our hair with care. That's why I have been going to the same person every time . Shout out to Crystal in Akron!!
"As long as the hair is healthy, it's good hair." Amen. I know a lot of people who have "Good Hair" that is damaged to filth from bleaching & heat damage to the point where even visually it's no longer good!
and this is why im going to go back to streaking and ombre... the whole bleach and dye trend really ruined my hair, i lost a lot of hair and i don't even maintain bleaching much... only took a few times to really thin out my hair and i was doing the right thing too, bleaching and heat is damaging especially for people with short hair and nobody wants to admit it, period.
Exactly! I've been trying to get my man and one of my friend girls to realize and understand this, but hey, like you said, they're brainwashed from childhood!
@@elo_elo5674 No hair stylist would start blowing out and flat ironing dirty hair. It's obviously the LIGHTING. If you look closely you can see all of the little coils in her hair, which is a trademark of 4c. Go back to playing Roblox and your other kiddie games and stop spreading your ignorance all over this comment section.
elo_ elo56 Wow. My hair freaking looks like that after I wash it. My natural hair color is off black. Sorry some of us 4c hair women don’t have naturally jet black hair. 🙄
We love a hairstylist that knows how to handle every hair type with care and gently. She is so passionate about what she puts in. Sometimes I feel ashamed or sad because some hairstylists make you feel like your hair is bad or they don’t care about how much damage they do it
I have to say this. Usually, when some hairdressers do natural hair, especially on darker skinned women. Some are extremely rough, and harsh. Not you though, you're very gentle. I watched how you handled her natural hair, and it was very kind. Her hair looks beautiful.
Jesus is Real Exactly! Every hair dresser I have gone to in my neighbourhood has just pulled on my hair and said I have lice, when I got a lice check the day before, no lice.
I honestly just think they say that so they don’t have to do you hair, one time I was at the salon, they said I had lice and then they got suited up in this big suit with a helmet and put a mask on 😂 The suit was hilarious
The tighter your curl, the gentler you need to be. If the hair stylist doesn't understand this, they don't know how to do your hair. Run, because they will be breaking and damaging it. This hairstylist showed it well. 👌 And yes, all hair is "good hair"
So I've heard "asian" textured hair is very different from other groups' hair even if it looks similar, and I was wondering if you have any difficulty getting your hair to keep a curl?
e. e. I am south Asian and I have kinda straight here (my mind hair are super smooth and straight😵) and my hair can hold curls for 3 days If I don’t wash them but my mums hair...curls only last for 7 hours max😂
Love seeing the details and your voiceover. As a white makeup artist my own personal hair could not be any more different, so I love to learn and observe these methods so I can service everyone who sits in my chair. Girls are pleasantly surprised when I can do their hair and lay their edges.
Honey I get you 😫 it took me so long to figure out I was using the wrong kind of comb. Now I only use straight, thin-toothed combs when my hair is straightened
Her hair is literally shimmering between white and black and white and black and I'm here trying to decipher it like hOw ?!? The hair looks total black, when it is blocked from the light source. But it turns total silver when the light source hits it.
Star Struck hahaha nicee. I was waiting for your response. You were just saying what you felt about the hair dresser and people just have to bring someone up to put someone down 💖
this question is unrelated to this video, but i’m asking because i am truly wanting to learn. do you prefer being called mexican or brown? and for the other people in this section, what do you prefer being called? i ask because lots of asians do not prefer being called yellow, but lots of black and white people like or prefer being called by their colors instead of african-american or caucasian. lots of hispanics, persians, etc like being called by their ethnicity but not by brown, but some do. what are all of you and what do you prefer to be called? what is the least offensive way to describe a person when trying to describe their ethnic background, etc? thank you.
@@fjp9 I can see this is with good intent... maybe? Asian ppl aren’t yellow so why would they be called yellow? Black ppl like to be called black. White people white. Asian people are also Indian not just Chinese and Korean
@@kaledoublescope i agree with some of the things you have said. but lots of asian people like chinese, korean, and japanese are considered to be yellow as far as the color spectrum of identification part. i forgot to ask about indians, thais, etc here, and i don’t know what they prefer. but i’d like to learn because i don’t want to offend anybody. and if you don’t think asians (chinese, koreans, japanese etc) are yellow, do you think they should be referred to as white then? or what or how do you think they should be referred to in concern with the color spectrum? as far as the color spectrum of people go i think lots of them are considered yellow versus white just because of labeling, and i don’t think any asian would refer to themselves as a white person unless literally calling themselves pale or white skinned versus caucasian.
4C is good hair. Too often it is represented by people with short, damaged, broken hair. As soon as you see 4C on someone with short or long healthy hair we recognize just how lucky we are to have such a rich texture.❤ Healthy hair is great hair💜
I'm literally appalled at how some things have been and I'm a white woman. I see you, I see your struggles women. I'm rooting for you and championing your causes. Personally hoping for a black woman president in my lifetime, I think the people who benefit from white men in power don't need inspiration or someone helping their causes anymore, they are privileged enough! Black women are queens, I adore them, and like I say I am rooting for you all ♥
Yes, she actually acted upon her words, I was like amen sister 😂 But on a serious note you can see how gentle she was her client’s hair and her slick hand movements 😍
I feel like African Americans are really good at taking care of their hair, here in Kenya the hairdressers just wanna rip your head off! EDIT: "OMG! I didn't expect this to be so relatable, thanks for the likes guys."
2freeIvX cuz it’s not good to keep putting heat to your hair. Straightening hair in general probes your hair to damage cuz it breaks the curls. Over time with use your hair shortens and shortens. It loses value.
2freeIvX Yea ironing your hair is better than relaxing it with chemicals. But still straightening your coils/curls is not good practice because it still damages the curls. It’s good to straighten your hair once in a while but long term use will cause problems to your hair. That’s why (as the OP is asking ) straightening isn’t as suggested as it could have been.
Thank you so much!! I have 4c hair and it's been 11 years since I've had a silk press. I love being natural and worry about heat damage. Your work and love of hair reminds me of my old stylist. You have a heart and passion for hair. You know your calling and I thank God for you! You change lives and minds by our work! You're greatly appreciated! God bless Sis!
As a white woman, I want to say we need to hype up black women's hair way more then we do in today's society. We see so much hype for gender and body acceptance. But we forget other things too. I dont have anything against women who wear weaves or wigs. But personally I think black women's hair is very VERY beautiful natrually. Its disgusting to see some places ban afros or braids. For me it looks way more beautiful and professional then wigs and weaves. And Im not saying wigs and weaves are ugly. I just personally, think is way more beautiful to see a woman with their natural beauty. Update: this forum took a weird turn. My comment just stems from my heart, growing up in a black community I was able to have a different perspective in society. My views came from how I saw girls being bullied growing up, or even in public and at a work place hearing dirty comments here and there. This comment was just me expressing how I felt especially since this channel has put out in the past how young girls were bullied for their hair. I thought this would have been a safe place for me to express my feelings towards situations that I saw on day to day bases around the community I grew up. For those who try to twist my words, please understand that this topic is very important to me due to how much hurt I have seen with people who were close to me due to this. Im not following a trend or trying to shame anyone. And for those who do not understand or live in their own happy bubble. Please look into these videos and understand how important it is for society to make everyone feel loved about who they are. Every little girl and boy deserves to feel beautiful, because everyone has their own beauty. It should not depend on race or anything els. And teaching young children to accept others who are different brings a more understanding community with less pain and racism towards one another. That goes for everything not just looks. Noone should be ashamed for who they are. And sadly I have met people who were. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YxG6S78X6SE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a7sX1cn5aO4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4JU92bB1A5Q.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fFgQLb5Bjjw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5DxfdANEv04.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x-hshirfRi4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uGaCNXoZ0Bs.html
Mjbgjk Hjjvghj I agree so much , I’m a white South African women and it hurts to much to see what black women go through in society, acceptance will save us and i hope we can move out of old negative patterns that are not needed ❤️
African hair is currently celebrated everywhere, idk where do you live but i see a lot of that hair in the media and in the streets. Makes me wonder why white women don't do the same and celebrate what they have. We see them everywhere with dead bleached hair, bored to do anything with it. I miss white women who had big 70s hair.
@@Nausithoe88 in the UK I have heard of many schools which have basically banned natural afro hair (it is too big/a distraction apparently, and sometimes it gets banned when it isn't even that much hair) and thicker braids (they certainly don't understand that smaller braids take so much longer to do) and I think it is ridiculous that white girls can still have big curly hair while black girls with afro hair cannot
thank you for the beginning disclaimer..."all hair is good if it's healthy". Alot of people are stuck on thinking softer textures being the standard for "good hair". By the way, love your hair and your so pretty :)

Last time I went to a hairdresser, she immediately chopped a big chunk out of my hair all at the once, I almost had a heart attack 😩 I mean calm down, my hair isn't going anywhere!
Hyunjins fluffy hair nah man I have curly hair and mines always really soft and nice , my mate has straight hair but she never washes it or out and it’s greasy. Depends what products you use
I keep coming back to this video. The client's hair is so pretty whether in its natural curl pattern or silk-pressed straight. It's clear you also know how to baby a person's hair, no matter the length, texture, and state.
Lack of serum, low temperature. They use fairly high temp. I use like 140ºc and was wondering how they get it so straight then realised they use much more heat and serums. Try that.
@@sophiefowler1936 That’s to get it slightly straighter before she starts straightening it. It’s necessary for those with tight curl patterns, not everyone

@@lilmanq7746 it's not true it's just that in America and in Western cultures that are hugely popular and control other resources they just don't make Clays and oils for this kind of hair as their hair don't need it so we're under-represented actually this hair is the thickest in the world but breakage is due to lack of knowledge which has coming around

I am calling you the hair healer. I have watch you resurrect the hair. Thank you for all of the care and detail You share. I hope other stylists and fledgling stylist are taking note for: 1. Combing tangles starting at the ends 2. Using wide tooth combs 3. Using the paddle brush 4. Not going over the hair section more than once ( to avoid damage and altering the curl pattern) I am not a stylist but I have seen stylist who have done the opposite of what you shared. I have had my hair over processed raiser cut burned etc. I do my own hair except to get trims because of the abuse I received. You are one in a million.!
As a white nurse, I was so glad to see this! We will (if we have time) wash people's hair - but I am was always unsure how to help those with very curly hair. This has shown me that we need to keep the scalp and hair healthy, so when the patient gets out of the hospital - they can get back to styling their hair. It would also be nice if we could recruit a family member to gently comb their hair. We all feel better, when we look better. I've watched 2 of your videos, and you are so gentle and caring!
completely out of context but you seem like a person who can heal a broken heart with a new haircut and also you seem very comforting like I know I can trust (sorry my bad english🙂)
I'm Irish and don't know many black people so this "good hair" conversation is brand new to me, and seems so sad that black people have been taught your hair isn't "good" because it's tight and curly and needs a bit more moisture added? Awful. I think natural afro hair is breathtaking. It's so bouncy and full and big! It's lovely. And you can do so much with it! All these intricate braided styles and twists and locs, there's so much variety and scope for creativity. If anything, bad hair is the fine straight hair white people have. Mine's wavy but even so, I can't get any volume into it and updos don't stay cuz it's so fine. Ye all have beautiful great hair and I'm very sorry you've not lived in a society that told you that.
Rose I would say that good hair is healthy well taken care of hair. No hair is going to be good if it’s damaged, poorly colored, poorly cut, and/or full of split ends wether it’s 1c, 2c, 3c, or 4c or anything in between.
Well I love my hair. I have waist length 4 type hair and I’m planning to grow it to my butt. Trust me, I think it’s sad how many stupid ideas have formed around 4 type hair.
I'm Argentinian of Irish heritage, my hair is red, extremely thick and wavy. I've always hated my hair but now that I've turned 40 I have accepted it. We don't have many black women here, except for some Brazilians and Dominicans, and I really love their natural curls. It's so lovely!
NOW I WANT MY HAIR SILK PRESSED! I ALSO HAVE 4C HAIR! but i don’t know if im allowed, people say south sudanese peoples hair are supposed to be curly, not straight
"as long as your hair is healthy, your hair is good" Girl preach!!! I was walking with my best friend and there's another girl in my school (she's super sweet with 4a hair I think) and she was rocking her natural curls just as me that day. We walked past each other, complimenting each other after that he (my best friend) says: "girl, she has pretty hair, but you have better hair" (I have 3b hair) I was like "we both have pretty hair, there's not such thing as good hair, every hair is good, god damn"

I guess as a white person, I never realized there was such a thing as “ good hair” or bad hair” what a thing to grow up believing. Your healthy hair no matter it’s texture, is good hair. Wow.
@John Homes Thats a lot of hair types that frizz too. With 4c hair u can still have the "wet look" wash and goes , ponytails/pigtails, after, blowouts , braids etc. trust me 4c hair is VERY versatile. I have it😌

Ardrena Desmond I know 4c hair varies but it doesn’t vary as widely as many think but a lot of the beauty community has gotten to a point where they label all type 4 hair as 4c and it’s making it harder to differentiate when looking for hair tips and tricks so it’s nice to see an actual 4c girl with low porosity rather than a 4b girl
That's are real Sistah! Dark Skin real 4 c hair. I'm laughing because when I was a kid if you were a girl with hair like that and dark skin and features like that , you would have never gotten a date. My how times have changed. I had a friend that looked like that back when I was a teenager and I remember that my Grandmother chased her out the house because she thought that this girl liked me. @roni yh but how do you know you're 4c if you dont see your coil?😩. Thats what i find to be the funniest. Are they identifying their hair by dryness?😭😭

Y'know with 4c hair, as a kid, I always wished to have it completely straight (never got it). Seeing this, it opened my eyes that with 4c hair you can still get the same flow and then get your curls back which is fascinating. Cool how we can have multiple different hair types.
