Nice try Rove. Over simplification of the facts. It's not about feelings or being decent, the statistics you quoted are out of date and simply wrong today. The issue is about whether or not this will effect real change, and if it is worth changing our constitution for it. Aboriginal Australians have representation in parliament today. Many Aboriginal organisations and advisory bodies already exist, making representations to parliament, today. Billions of dollars are already being spent on Aboriginal causes and needs, just ask Noel what happened to the money...and to say it is for the future of the children, come on, it's that the best argument for it? I personally believe at some point, Aboriginal Australians should receive recognition in the constitution, but I'm sorry, the so called voice doesn't cut it for me. I think it is racist and divisive. So, it's a NO for me. I agree with the representative for the NO campaign from Tasmania. It is the resposibility of the Parliament of Australia to close the gap, to listen to Aboriginal people, to consult and seek representations. No need for a new "Voice", just do your job and include the actual people in your decision making. Simple.

Sorry Rove but you're blinded by your feelings. It is in no way as simple as you make it out and outright insulting to suggest no voters are indecent (it's actually around 60% of indigenous people voting yes so...) I think the majority of yes voters have their hearts in the right place but really need to think about the implications of major constitutional change and its ability to be nefariously manipulated. The proposal is way too vague and ultimately would do little to give voice to the people who actually want solutions.
