Mihoyo: puts out a bunch of new content, inazuma, banners, fixes bugs, gives ps4/5 players cross-save, etc. Also Mihoyo: what’s a Nintendo switch? What trailer? Huh? Released a year ago? What?
I think the new content its the problem, the players are constantly asking for more and more content, to the point that mihoyo has to focus on new content to keep the players interest in the game, and not on releasing the game on switch (Sorry for my bad English)
@@Lu-zd5lg Yeah but they should have enough staff to balance the content creation as well as the switch optimisation. As a billionaire company, they should have a separate team to work on the release of the switch version simultaneously.
I wonder if Mihoyo is taking awhile to negotiate with Nintendo considering the gacha monetization of the game. Don't think there are many gacha games on the Switch and I'd imagine Nintendo wants a large cut of the gacha revenue.
@@r_vx3234 no way is it releasing this year that's for sure. a game as big as genshin impact would need alot more time to optimize especially for the switch port. especially since the switch itself isn't all that much powerfull, take the witcher 3, even though they were able to port that over, the performance on it, still isn't the best.
You do know phones these days are more powerful than the switch right. Genshin impact on mobile storage is 15gb. Not to mention you need a decent phone to play the game atleast on 30 fps.
Phones were capable of handling it since it released but a switch port version is probably difficult to implement I would imagine since the switch doesn't have as much power as new phones do so it would probably need to be downgraded to run at a stable framerate but you know mihoyo isn't always the best with optimizing so I guess we'll just have to see if it can run well
@@joshuadavey650 ??? I’ve played this game on a cool pad and it looks fine. Hell most potato phones can run the game and it plays really well. I think your forgetting that this is a mobile company and that they don’t have that much experience with consoles.
@@hitbox9051 except ps5, pc can run this game butter smooth and the best platform to play this game. PS4 pro runs this game at stable 30 fps too. Not to mention the botw fanboys are toxic af and will try to put shade to this game as botw clone and whine in their Twitter like those Karen's
@@joshuadavey650 Your changing the subject we aren’t talking about breath of the wild we are talking about Genshin….I love breath of the wild but I love Genshin more because of the characters.
I am someone who has waited to play this game on Switch. Why? Cause I want everything on Switch. It's the only console that gets my attention nowadays. ✌ hope to hear news soon on a release window.
@@ryansteffen6817 i’m more of a toilet gamer myself, clash of clans x pooping goes hard, now imagine rolling and pulling a 5 star on the shitter. that feeling will just be unbeatable🤯
I played on PC for a very long time, got all characters I wanted... But I would love to be able to play it on Switch even if it means I'll have to start over.
is it cheaper to play on PC vs mobile? I really wanna play this game but I've got an issue with microtransactions, I don't wanna end up obsessed with this game and throw away all my money on microtransactions because I have no self control lmao
Definitely feels in a way like it was announced a bit too early They could had only started development tbh if it's on their back burner with them trying to keep current players engaged and trying to manage everything else 🤔
I think I read somewhere that the Switch port was started the same time as the PS4. It makes me wonder that Nintendo is the cause for the delay. Maybe they want more money from the gacha monetization of the game and both parties are still sorting it out.
@@duckity4320 “oh your depressed, well then just be happy” thank you so much I’ve never thought about that in my entire life, cause it’s not like I’m still a minor and I’m gonna buy a new phone for 1 game. |: lmao that was kind of funny though cause I can’t tell if your kidding or not snbsnsjssjsj pls tell me you are ??????!!?
Probably this September Nintendo Direct or next year. Edit: I don't have the best smartphone and PC to play not even Gacha games. Therefore, I would appreciate a Switch port of this game. Especially a Mega Man X Dive port on Switch would be awesome as well.
i can see it coming in spetember simply because 2 things 1. baal banner people will spend way more money and 2. 1 year anniversary which means free crap
I swear, if i have to pay for Nintendo Online, I'm actually going to give up on it. I know Switch has an actual free to play like Apex and Fortnite where you don't need to pay online so I'm hoping this is the same. The only reason I'm thinking this is because of an article i saw about paying but that was at the start of the year. Most importantly though, it NEEDS cross progression.
I think people need to understand that genshin is probably under exclusively and thats why they are doing this whole collab thing with Sony. All these people saying that the hardware is shit and that may be true to some extent but the switch has games on there that run pretty well like botw and Witcher. The horizon charater coming to genshin reassured my assumption that its in a exclusive deal with Sony for about a year and won't see news for it after that deal has ended. hopefully around September we get some acutal news.
@@onelasada1707 its was probably annouce and worked on before the deal ever happen. quite a bit of games end up the same way. They get announce thats its coming to other platforms but then Sony comes in with a exclusive deal and then other consoles/pc end up having to wait longer because of it
also, if the 1 year anniversary is coming soon. its a great way to get people on the switch into genshin with rewards. Since its the 1 year anniversary, it kinda lines up with the exclusive deal that'll end around that time.
Yeah ur right, even a game like Apex Legends came out for switch and it’s 60 ppl per server, so September does look promising for a switch release bc that’s when the exclusive colab thing with Sony expires.
The development of the Switch version started in 2017, this trailer was released in 2020, if the Switch didn't have enough powerful hardware for this game, in 3 years of development they should have figured it out, but they released the trailer so i don't think it is a hardware issue.
I have no device to play Genshin Impact but if they are going to release it on Switch then I have a reason to buy Switch, it's the most affordable console for me. I hope Genshin Impact will be released on Switch soon!
I played a few hours on my phone back when it released and had a blast. Stopped playing though because I knew I'd have an even better time on my switch and assuming I wouldn't be able to transfer my data over from my phone and that will be my main platform to play on I've just been waiting ever since because I don't want to get far and restart
@@myredditanecdotes my sister's phone is also getting overheating my phone is not compatible on my phone so that's why i use my sister's phone still hoping on Nintendo switch genshin
When genshin impact comes on switch I hope all switch players (Like Myself) will get a special reward for waiting almost a year now. and not a Glider like PS5, i think switch players deserve like primogems or something
When I heard genshin impact was gonna be on switch I was hyped, but now that its taken so long im debating if I even want to play. If I got into it now I feel I won't get to enjoy it as long as I'd like to cause blue protocol is also around the corner (hopefully) and alot of my time will be spent on that!
Honestly, you have to look at it from a business standpoint. I think that they are waiting for Nintendo to approve for them to crossover to switch(maybe because of licensing with PlayStation). They could be working on a breath of the wild crossover since that would make them a huge amount of money in sales and time it as a release.
Been playing on ps4 and this would be such a fun game to play on the switch, it’s a game I’d definitely play more if I could have it on the go but not on the phone, just takes too much space on a phone
I would prefer it much on switch then on phone. My phone gets hot (like I guess everyone's) and if it heats up too much a second time, I literally can't do anything anymore. No calls, no messages, while as on the switch I can only play games on it
I just want this on switch because I’ve had to change the device I play genshin on TWICE now because none of my devices have enough storage for all the updates and stuff… having it on switch would just make everything so much easier
What i can imagine... Mihoyo is testing their cloud game server recently, so... speculation: Maybe due to hardware limit, they will push as cloud gaming service on switch?
@Carlo Mig If I swapped a 2017 phones software out for the Switches one and ran switch games, do you think it could run Doom and and all the other games of similar graphic level and power consumption? no. some of 2020 and 2021 phones cant even run Genshin for long periods of time without heating up significantly
@Carlo Mig Those games are specifically coded for Phones, of course they run easier. They're not taking up the same amount of space nor using the same amount of power to run those games. Not all Software is created equal, you aint gonna be running the pc version of apex anywhere close on a phone. how narrow minded do you have to be to not realize that?
Ok even though I play on PC, but I just cannot wait for Genshin to come to Switch... Being able to play on the go is something I really would like, yea there is mobile but lets be honest, gaming on mobile phone sucks...
@ChinaIsDestroyerOf WesternCivilization hell no you just said a whole essay about my comment but yes i do agree, but lets admit that mihoyo isnt good at developing in console
@@yuriei. I'm currently playing it on the ps5 and so far am having no issues but yeah I agree that the ps4 version was lacking performance so I would imagine it would be difficult for a switch verision to be implemented since it would probably need to be downgraded to run at a stable performance so idk if it will run well on switch so I guess well just have to see if mihoyo will really optimize the switch verision if they release it on there
The way that Genshin Impact Runs on Base Ps4 should be enough reason why this is taking forever, my poor ps4 can barely handle it, I can't imagine it coming to switch anytime soon but man, the cuts are going to be massive. At least its still happening
Genshin Impact was released on phones, so I doubt it's a graphics issue. Probably has more to do with the gacha system and Nintendo wanting a cut of the profits.
@@RawPower867 You would be surprised how far phones have come, while they are often times thermal throttled, its rather impressive how far mobile tech has come. Just take a look at the iPad pros they are titans in power, sadly the switch is was already lackluster in power for 2017 standards yet now? I don't know how they are keeping up with 3rd party support with ps5. While not saying your wrong as I do feel Nintendo is asenine about a ton of things so wanting a fat cut of that large mihoyo pie wouldn't surprise me. However, the fact of the matter is that the switch is a fairly underwhelming console and developing for it takes stupid time. Although going on this long without news is concerning...who knows everything is just speculation at this point
@@Hsiao329 you would be surprised if you saw the video of someone playing genshin impact on switch by installing android. not only that, it ran quite nicely too. i think they'll be able to make it super smooth if they **optimized** it the right way
@@matsukei9206 I would hope so too buddy, personally if that is the case, then I really do hope the game is on the way soon. Its just seeing how poorly the playstation 4 version ran, and it being quite a ways more powerful than the switch, makes me doubt, but hey if they pull it off, Id be happy.
@@Hsiao329 Kinda weird for me, I play GS on the ps4 and mine runs pretty fine for the most part....though those texture load up are uhh....distracting to say the least.
yeah im a new player, and played a tiny bit on my cousins ps4, and now im hooked but the only thing that is capable of running genshin is my switch, so ive been trying to find everything i can to the switch port. thanks for the update.
I don't have much hope anymore. It's said the development for Switch was hindered by its CPU which is understandable, but "weak CPU" is not a problem for controller support for Android that was promised but still not seeing the light of day either. And the 1st Anniversary is only 2 weeks away.
It's been a year in Genshin. And still no switch port. I wonder if it's still realy coming out. I mean if it does, switch players would be so behind with banners.
it’s almost been two years since the trailer but i’ve concluded this year or next summer genshin will come to switch. Hopefully this christmas pls my phone can’t handle this!
guys i just realized you could just get the steam deck coming out soon. it has better stats than the nintendo switch and it is a portable handheld computer console that you can connect to any monitor and tv. you can probably play genshin impact on it too :OO
the real issue is nintendo try to sue genshin impact back then like they say its a rip off of BOTW. maybe but. this game is great on its own. then it becomes big as it is now with constant updates thats why switch owners that use to bash this game wanna get their hands on it. lolz.
BRO IF THIS COMES TO SWITCH THIS WOULD HELP ME PLAY MORE GENSHIN. MY FAMILY ONLY HAS 2 TVS AND I PLAY IT ON THE PLAYSTATION AND CAN BARELY PLAY. PLEASE IT THIS GETS ON IMA DOWNLOAD ON THE DAY IT RELEASES
I'm going to say a release window will be announced in September. Not only is it the first anniversary for the game, but that's also around the same time for a Fall Nintendo Direct. As for why it's taking so long? I can sum it up in three letters. R A M. The Switch only has 4GB of RAM compared to the PS4's 8 GB. What's worse is that the Switch has GDDR4 RAM, while the PS4 had GDDR5. Optimizion is very important for a game like this and MiHiYo needs do to a whole lot to make the game run as well as a higher specced phone.
Most phones are more powerful than the Switch, but if my potato phone (that can't even run Roblox without overheating and lagging) can run Genshin quite well, i can't see why the Switch could not.
I keep on getting ads for Genshin Impact but when I try to download it on my phone, it keeps on saying that "Device is not compatible for this game" and it makes me sad lol. Guess I'll just have to continue being patient and wait for it to come out for switch
I hate getting spoiled when ever I see someone play it💔And I just wanna play it myself I wanna experience This game without getting spoiled I would play it on my phone but it just takes up to much Storage that’s why I’m waiting on the switch and I do hope it comes out soon CUS IM READY TO SPEND MY MONEY >:D
I have a gaming PC, but I prefer to play grindy games in bed. My iPhone X can't run the game for more than 5 minutes without lags and stutters from thermal throttling. My Tab s7 runs the game just fine, but it's too big to game on comfortably for long periods. My Steam deck doesn't arrive till Q3 next year. The Nintendo switch version is my only saving grace right now.
Let,s be clear, their PR talk meant NOTHING. Not even that the game will be release. Nothing. You read too much into it. Of course the game can still be released but what they say was basically: "Nice to know you want the game, but we have nothing to say about it at this moment and you will know more when everyone will knows as well."
Do you think nintendo will let people with Google accounts play this game if it ever comes out it usually says use the nintendo account for most of the games also I'm worried that since I use a Google account to play all the characters and the progress I have made will dissappear and I won't have anything to play like no progress or anything I would have to start from the begining if they put genshin in the nintendo switch.
@@nom5009 Sony doesn't, and Nintendo is Nintendo. They're not known for caring about other platforms (and this is coming form someone who loves Nintendo)
@@kirin1230 Even Sony allowed cross-save on PS4/5 (After a whole year but still), and Nintendo is more open to cross-save games, such as Fortnite, Paladins, Rocket League and SMITE.
