Yes but it will take time to implement due server problem. Let's hope Nintendo able to upgrade their server because they are lacking if you compare to Microsoft and SONY.
@@yudhiadhyatmikosiswono9082 Nintendo is lazy af and back behind technology it's embarassing. I mean look at how they're milking the Pokemon games despite being 100 billion dollar franchise. Nintendo is a multi billionaire company yet put out products and game that an indie company and Dev's do and don't forget their notorious copyrighting.
My hype for it coming on the switch has died at this point due to the lack of news and updates, but I'm still optimistic that the Switch port is still in development and that it will come out eventually. Unless they officially announce that they are cancelling the port to Switch, then I still believe it's still currently in the works. I will be hyped again once there's news about it.
@@mightguy3118 I wanna be optimistic lol, I know it's been 1 year + no announcements but they haven't made any official update saying they cancelled it. So I'm still hoping. But yeah at this point I'll probably just play it elsewhere like PC or iPad
At this point I don't think the issue lies with mihoyo, but likely with Nintendo... This type of port delays are usually due to either programming issues (which should have been resolved by now, since dataminers have found Switch data in the code since v2.0), licensing agreements (which may be possible because Sony, a Nintendo competitor, is a huge sponsor for the game and helped out a lot with the marketing and game development), or some discussion issues with the higher ups (again, highly possible considering this is the sort of stuff that doesn't go out of the meeting room, and the 'lack of responses' probably stems from the fact that the employees replying to the emails also have no idea what is being discussed). I keep seeing people pointing their fingers at mihoyo about the delay in the Switch port, but I feel like Nintendo deserves to be pointed at as well.
the main reason they stay away from switch is mihoyo don't want genshin living under BOTW shadow anymore , back in the past nobody know what is genshin impact and who is mihoyo so they willing to bear the bad nick name : "another cn garbage clone , rip-off , copy from awesome japanese BOTW" or "Japanese make , CN steal" ...etc to attract more attention . today is very different genshin impact become massive popular game , a global phenomenon on it own . the last thing mihoyo want to do is turn the clock right back and destroy their entire genshin reputation by a switch version . remember when people think about switch they think about awesome japanese product and game such as BOTW , genshin on the other hand will be forever label as nothing but a CN garbage clone trash that rip-off from japanese awesome game if it come living under nintendo shadow
I don’t think they’re worried about their reputation. Their rep is just too high, they’re like the kings of Gacha games, a few ignorant reviews of Nintendo fans-who barely know a thing or two about Genshin-will probably not hurt their reputation cause it’s just too strong and it’ll be just a few people complaining compared to the ever-flowing positive reviews that they have. If they actually did care they wouldn’t announce the game for the switch at all.
@@miguelisaweeb2319 agreed, I feel like at the start everyone was comparing genshin to botw, but genshin has been able to pull away and really make its own mark in the world of video games. when it comes to the switch, I'm sure there's only going to be excitement, not people crying out that it's a copy.
I think It's more like because mihoyo released it first on PS4 just like the game fall guys, it got delayed on switch because they released it on PS4 first. I guessing it's because of sony, not because mihoyo doesn't want genshin to be a botw shadow, i bet they don't care about it, after all they're making millions of money even if some people hates on the game. I also don't think it's the switch's hardware, the game itself can run on my potato phone so i think porting the game on switch is not an issue.
I play on PC, but Genshin runs pretty well on my old iPhone 7, so I’m pretty sure for the most part there are no problems there. The switch also has cross play with games like Fortnite and Minecraft, and can even manage run games like The Witcher 3. So overall there isn’t many major roadblocks, considering Genshin runs on phones. Still, I hope we get something at the Game Awards, even a picture saying “Coming 2022” would be enough.
The real roadblock is how can Mihoyo "optimize" Genshin Impact on Switch. Sure, you can put games like the Witcher as an example but it's porting development takes years and not to mention that Nintendo put funds on the port. Genshin Impact on Switch needs time and the porting fund solely rest on Mihoyo themselves.
I think it's still coming to switch. Maybe they'll announce it at the game awards like u said. The success of this game was so big they had to hire new employees and new pr team and stuff and they had to expand so much to make new content to keep the playerbase satisfied so I think switch version will come cause it means more players.
the main reason they stay away from switch is mihoyo don't want genshin living under BOTW shadow anymore , back in the past nobody know what is genshin impact and who is mihoyo so they willing to bear the bad nick name : "another cn garbage clone , rip-off , copy from awesome japanese BOTW" or "Japanese make , CN steal" ...etc to attract more attention . today is very different genshin impact become massive popular game , a global phenomenon on it own . the last thing mihoyo want to do is turn the clock right back and destroy their entire genshin reputation by a switch version . remember when people think about switch they think about awesome japanese product and game such as BOTW , genshin on the other hand will be forever label as nothing but a CN garbage clone trash that rip-off from japanese awesome game if it come living under nintendo shadow
i really hope genshin will be coming to the switch soon because im a mobile player, i dont have a pc, ps, anything. i do have a switch though. anyways the point is im running out of space to play on my phone, and honestly as much as i love genshin they might lose a player within the next feew updates becuse of this. and i know there are many other players in the same situation as well...
I’ve lost space on my PS4 mainly because I’m sharing the console with my brother. I can’t play anymore because it’s already taking up 30 GB’s which is wild.
C'mon us switch people can never get a thing most big games avoid us and go to other consoles we at least need some retribution that comes with the genshin impact switch version we were promised
My speculation is that nintendo is the one having issues instead of Mihoyo and the switch console's power. I mean Witcher 3 and Skyrim ports are much more powerful in terms of graphics compared to genshin. Maybe they still couldn't agree on the shares for the primos on the Eshop or something, either way maybe they have something planned with it's release
Rumor say that Nintendo server are not ready for cross platform gameplay and another rumor say that there still negotiation on profit share between Mihoyo and Nintendo.
@@yudhiadhyatmikosiswono9082 They already have cross platform on the switch version of Minecraft, it can play with any other bedrock platform such as windows 10/Xbox I believe

@@MarceIIus New elemental reaction names have been added to the game data, called Overgrown and Intensified. Just by their names you can pretty much guess which elements they refer to.
I doubt it has to do with the power, there are many smartphones out there that are weaker than the switch (some multiplatform games also have slightly better graphics on the switch than the iOS/Android version) and still can run genshin impact
@@asmc1492 Wrong, the X1 in the switch was the most powerful high end tablet gpu from 2015 that was ahead of other gpus. Smartphones with no active cooling where not a match for the switch.
@@Saroku1000 The X1 is still running 25-65% below capacity. It’s less than half the speed in portable mode. So like, less than 256 gfops. Each Maxwell gflop may be worth more than a Mali or Adreno gflop but even a midrange phone from a few generations ago can beat it. Accounting for throttling, they’re about the same in power, but something like a Snapdragon 670 really doesn’t make headlines for it’s gaming performance. I predict 600p all low in portable mode with stable 30fps(if they optimize properly) and a bit more than 720p with some settings slid up at 30fps for docked mode. That is not ideal. Many games run worse on the switch but with Genshin’s massive fanbase and how mediocre the graphics are, a lot of people will be unhappy. Also, I wonder if having to use external accounts has to do with how long it’s taken.
@@dalzy25 Its still more capable in terms of graphical output, smartphones in 2015 where graphically far away from xbox 360 graphics (bioshock on iOS in 2014 was on a way lower graphical level than the 360 version) while the Switch was way above the 360. The X1 is more efficient for gaming and needs less horsepower for the same graphics. If you compare games that are on the switch and mobile, the switch always has higher textures, more plants, better lightning and particle effects. A game like Skyrim would not run on a 2015 Smartphone. People only compare fps these days if its about the switch and completly ignore that the switch has to process more lightning/higher textures and more particle effects than the Smartphone versions. The Switch version of fortnite is a more demanding pc port while the mobile fortnite was designed from the ground up with more effency in mind for mobiles. If the switch fortnite would be ported to mobile, they probably would also run on 30ps there.
@@Saroku1000 The switch is not above the 360 in any way other than having more RAM and a more modern architecture. And in portable mode it is frankly measurably worse in Compute. I think you've missed the point. There's a reason the port of GI still isn't out after a year. It takes considerable effort to port a current gen game to a console that is now almost 2 generations behind.
Genshin coming to switch during Christmas time would be there best move because most people get Nintendo switches during that time. I really do hope it comes because I would like it if my friends played genshin with me.
Last time I checked on this topic the issue is due the way microtransactions are integrated in the game and there were some issues making it compatible with the eShop. Tho it's been a long time since I read that... doubt Nintendo are going to do anything about it if it requires them to do more work than they're used to do other than just releasing the game.
Damn it but I do think it’s still coming if we look at doom eternal, life is strange true colors they all took extra development time, but to me I think they out sourced it to another studio probably Panic button to help them out. Which is a possibility.
that would not be a porblem but all those still have switch as releasing on their websites genshin does not have the switch as a system on their website
My theory is Genshin will release next year, likely on Genshin's next anniversary of we will at least get news about it next year. Chances are we will get something but we will have to wait.
Glad to know you reached out before and got a response, even if the response is more or less "yeah we don't know" lol. I guess I'll stop hoping for genshin on switch and be pleasantly surprised later if it comes out
What they can’t tell you is that Mihoyo has some kind of deal/contract with PlayStation, because Sony is constantly promoting the game heavily, to me, this is the biggest reason, “the exclusivity”, PlayStation is the only console that this game is available on, not even on Xbox and I believe Sony renewed the contract for another year of exclusivity because this game is making so much money, but they can’t tell anything because of the contract with PS, to me this is too obvious.
It made me realize that owning only either an Xbox or Nintendo consoles always leaves a void of games that the platforms don't have. As of now, PS has the market share and they can literally make 3rd party deals like these which I actually hate.
I think there's a chance it could still come out on Switch since there have been several games with a significantly delayed Switch release, but after almost 2 years I don't have high hopes. At this point, I'll be glad if it comes out, but my investment in Genshin is pretty low.
I'm sure hoping so since I am getting tierd of playing it on my phone, jump cancel is kinda annoying for hu tao on iphone. I'm a mac user, and is praying that it comes to switch soon since I don't really want to buy a windows product.
I'm right there with you...tired of playing the game on mobile and I have a Mac but no other game consoles other than Switch. I'm basically at the point where I don't see myself playing the game much until it comes out on Switch or Mac.
Out of all possible reasons, I don't think hardware issues is one Sure I'm not expecting it to run at it's highest settings on switch, but we already see what other games can run on this tablet console, right? So personally, I think the issues are more likely on the company since MiHoyo looks more focused on the mobile version, because that's where the big money's at.. (And as far as I know, even the PlayStation version itself isn't doing really well..)
I just want it to be available for mac without downloading random programs 😭😭😭There are so many people frustrated about it Idk why it's so hard. Windows and Mac are still PCs literally.....
I think the main issue with Genshin switch port is from business side, mainly about profit sharing and Nintendo feels the deal would be way too advantageous on Mihoyo side. From Nintendo perspective, why they should bother bearing the server and others cost if significant amount of the players buy primogem and other spendings through non Nintendo channel. Also Nintendo is one of the more conservative game company out there that probably feels threatened by new paradigm shift brought by a game like Genshin
Just my own speculation. I think Nintendo wants to put a price tag on Genshin Impact on their platform. With that, they could get a cut from the sales, micro transactions, and get more subs on their Nintendo Switch Online(NSO) service. Also, there is NSO logo on the thumbnail of the official Switch announcement from the Genshin Impact YT channel and this add some evidence that my speculation might be true. I bet that Mihoyo doesn't want those terms and they are still negotiating as of today.
@@onelasada1707 that's one of the issue that cause ongoing Tug of war between Nintendo and Mihoyo as everyone feels entitled to claim the lion share of the profit pie. I think most players will be fine as long as the switch retail copy for Genshin do include some primos in reasonable amount should Nintendo charge some price for it
Mihoyo should have just tamed there expectations and had a vibe check, we are I think two years in? And zero word besides some guy saying he got an e-mail from them
It will be 2 years if the game is not yet release until the end of January 2022. I totally agree with you here. Actually, Mihoyo should follow what the developers of Fall Guys did on their Switch port status. They officially informed their fans that the game is being delayed until 2022. Mihoyo should release an official tweet/blog post by now.
Mihoyo lied, they aren’t even working on it, they’re skipping the switch version and went straight to working on cloud gaming right after the got done with the PS5 version
For me... It wouldn't be a problem if there was controller support for Android. It just sucks to be a console player that has to reserve to mobile when going over to a friend's house or something. Again with controller support it shouldn't matter, you'll get the same console experience on the go. But for us Android players we cant do anything about it.
Did you hear that there was a switch beta playable version at some NYC anime convention recently? People took pictures and multiple people have mentioned that they got to play it. Not sure how legit it is, but If this is legit, it should mean we could get the switch version fairly soon!
@@nom5009 I see, I don't know I didn't see it through a tweet, but someone else made a video talking about it. Still if they have controller support, and the version had beta on it, id imagine it would still hint towards a switch version. unless that info was also incorrect.
like i said i think sony brought them out we should have one more indie world next month if there is nothing we may as well believe sony brought them out
For me wanting this on switch would be cool but as of right now I have given up hope for it ever coming over to the switch but here is hoping it does come for the players for me I kinda just stopped looking into this game for switch cause I know it's not happening me and my friends on twitter joke that if it did come most of us should be scared if it came as a times exclusive. But that's just us jokin about it and then also saying on the switch port would run badly but meh. I just giving up on this game cause this makes me want a PS4 to play it over there and sadly I don't have one cause that's all what my PS4 would be a Genshin impact machine as well as persona 5 one and other games maybe Neptunia too I hope the fans get what they want honestly with this game...
PS still has a tight grip on most 3rd party Japanese games. I bought the Switch for Japanese games and portability however some 3rd party Japanese games on Switch are like older and more expensive compared on PS4. Heck, even the Xbox has some 3rd party Japanese games that the Switch has yet to received like Tales of Arise, Yakuza like a Dragon and the new upcoming Star Ocean. P.S, I know that Mihoyo(Genshin Impact) is Chinese company. I'm just mad at the Switch lack of 3rd parties that I like. I should have bought at least a slim or launch PS4.
@@onelasada1707 can kinda agree with you on that one though with tales we just have to wait this is kinda like me moaning about the lack of YS games on switch only ones we have so far is YS IX and YS VII plus Origin and only tales game we have is Vesperia and that's a favourite of mine and I'm just waiting for more games to make it to the switch lol.
@@onelasada1707 LMAO that's me, I don't have a good enough PC so I just play on mobile. Feelsbad I've played Genshin since launch and I've been waiting for a Switch port that they promised ever since.. I'm still optimistic that eventually it will happen
i bet one of the reasons that kept this game away from the switch is probably an exclusivity deals of either apple or Epic Games Store, I mean Sony have already secured the Playstation versions during the development stage of genshin impact and after the release Mihoyo must be start working on the switch port which by then Nintendo have announced the switch port on one of their direct, but after the huge popularity the game did apple and epic entered the scene and one of them paid to keep it of the switch which is also considered a rival to them. I don't know if this is the real reason but I'm just saying. the reason why I brought apple and epic to the table is because epic and especially Apple do struck a deal to keep a lots of mobile ports from going to the ps4/ps5 where there's already a switch ports, for an example Oceanhorn 2, oceanhorn 2 to this day have never seen the light of day on Sony's platforms while it did released on the switch ages ago, I liked the first game so much on the ps4 so I got hyped when I learn about the sequel only to be shocked that it only ported to one console and that the switch which I don't have one, so when I did some searches I learn that apple paid the devs to keep it exclusive to the Apple TV that god only know for how long, and the devs kept saying it will be coming to Playstation and Xbox in the future but as the usual " excuses " they don't have a release date on those platforms yet.
To me, my 19 year old cousin plays genshin and she couldn't log in from PS5 to PC. I know she has a switch and it would be best to have genshin on switch
Its incredible how they are to dumb to port a game that even works on Mobile Phones, and then leave the switch community without informations bout it Like tf mihoyo, ur game is expensiv af already and ur rich af just pay a bit more for porting it x(
It’s definitely Sony who is keeping these games like Fall Guys and Genshin Impact off of other consoles. You’re telling me it’s taking this long to get fall guys to run on Xbox and switch? No it’s Sony paying to slow the process because Sony is the king of keeping things exclusive.
PS gets the majority of its sales from live service games. Scummy move for Sony but they are really smart on locking up live service games like Fall Guys and Genshin Impact on their platform. These types of deals creates a bigger dent on its console competitors than locking up 3rd party single player AAA games.
Ima big fan of genshin i play alot in PC but i hope it coming on switch so i can play it on my switch lite and it would be make my day alot cuz all i do on switch just Zelda, pokemon, paladins
You need to understand that video game development is demanding. This makes concrete responses to things very risky. It might seem reasonable to expect a valid response to this but the nature of creative endeavors just make responses to this kind of inquiry difficult. HOWEVER the lack of news on the discontinuation of the switch port is certainly news, if a concrete decision against this had been reached it would have been communicated. Your previous email response from them makes it very clear something exists they just aren't at liberty to discuss yet. Nintendo is very intentional about the marketing of games on their platform, so they might be contractually prevented from discussing it until the terms they agreed upon with Nintendo are met. ~account users Dad, aether seraph.
Then again I'm pretty sure they're working on alot at the moment as I also play honkai impact and recently they have been adding new characters and lots of other new things for players plus the new game honkai star rail so I think it will come to switch but will take time
Honestly, it would be great if it comes out, but I doubt I'll be playing it on switch. Mostly due to the rumour that you have to pay for nintendo switch online in order to play it.
Honestly I hope they at least make it so you can play the game for free, but if you want to coop you need nintendo switch online. It would be pretty stupid to pay for a free game, that already has transactions in it.
@@dogge1599 Take Fortnite, Apex and Warframe as an example. It's very likely that Genshin Impact is free to play on Switch without NSO. For what I know, any games that are purchasable on the Eshop that has online functions needs NSO. However, Nintendo is greedy asf. They might put Genshin a price tag and ask for NSO to play. Lol.
He shin already on mobile…..switch is a mobile device. The bean counter department prolly told em to drop the port. The game has a sufficiently saturated presence that having on switch would prolly suck up more resources than its projected revenue could ever justify.
i think its pretty obvious its not coming. the way genshin impact works is through constant updates every 6 weeks, and that time frame is too fast for nintendo. i follow several games that either have been trying to get a version on the switch or or have one but are having trouble getting updates to the system. the issue is that nintendo is extremely strict on what happens on their platform and they need to personally review and check every single update that gets pushed, and that can take upwards of 6 - 8 months per update no matter how big or small. as you could maybe understand, they can't possibly operate the game in its current form under that kind of service. also physical limitations in the power of the switch is a concern. my phone is one of the newer iphones with pretty high specs, and even on the lowest settings i can only run the game for about a half hour to an hour before my phone is too hot to hold. and my phone has better specs then the switch... Even on pc with more recent updates, even regardless of my settings, i get random frame drops and stuttering constantly for seemingly no reason. because of the constant updates the performance of the game has dropped like crazy, and even if it could have run on the switch at launch, i don't know if it could now. the game needs some serious bug fixes and more optimization before you should even consider wanting it on the switch at this point...
I think this is have to do with Nintendo server are not ready for cross platform gameplay. According to my friend, you can play PSN Genshin account in your smartphone, don't know about buying gems but some item are PSN exclusive like wing and sword.
Maybe it’s the same deal as acnh being delayed on switch let’s not forget it was seated for A WHOLE YEAR! Maybe genshin is already coded for the switch port but it’s just Nintendo problems who knows at this point
@@nom5009 good point, I know that most mobiles are more powerful than the switch but the switch should ran the mobile version with no problems, no surprises if the switch had performance problems with genshin impact, since the game had frame drops on all platforms currently it's running on, and yes even the native ps5 port which is odd. the PC's is the only solid version performance wise and I saw a lots of footages of the PC version had framerate dips happen when more than 4 elements casted on the screen at the same time.

Switch V2 is already out which is the 2019 revision model. I think what you mean is the next generation console for Nintendo. If Genshin will be a next gen exclusive then they lied on their Switch port reveal.
Judging by what they said prior there's no way THIS game will be ported on our platform. Genshin is too heavy even for my SD 870 with 8 gb fast ram, so poor switch not gonna handle it
The switch also has 8GB ddr4 ram, not much of a difference. The Tegra X1 is more optimized for gaming than snapdragons, so they need less power for the same graphical results, thats why the switch still sometimes has the upper hand on multiplatform games, when you compare the switch and mobile version, the switch almost always has higher textures and better particle/lightning effects.
