My best friends Mom is here to get her hair into shape. We also are gonna di a few things to get her hair to look fuller. DeeperThanHair.com Denman Paddle Brush: amzn.to/30lYXA1
Some years ago, shopping with my aunt, I looked back and she had half of her body in the freezer lol I asked what's wrong and she said just her personal summer lol the whole row of freezers were fogged up 🤣
I'm almost 56 and I still roll my hair too. After you turn 50, EVERYTHING CHANGES. You're a very nice young lady to be so attentive to our 50's needs regarding hair. Awesome girl you are. God bless❤
I agree with Carmen Hayes here. Us over 50 plus women go through it with this hair journey. Thinning, bald spots almost in some places and shedding and losing hair is no fun. It has slowed down some since I take hair and nail vitamins with Biotin and try to eat better but no all the way.
Have you ever considered being an instructor because you’re so relatable as well as knowledgeable and very calming I know a lot of future cosmetologist would benefit from you love these videos 💜
My pony tail was getting smaller and I was freaking out about losing hair and checking for bald spots. Turns out the actual strands were thinner and finer. Just a side effect of being over 40.
Girl...😩 I'm 44 and i noticed my ponytail was waaay thinner than in my 30s. Thank God i had super dense hair to begin with cause if not, id probably be looking for a hair transplant! LBVVS😬😟
Amen to that! I’m 64 and yes my hair has thin, but I started working out 4-5 days a week and yesssssss now my hair is thicker and I wear wash and go’s mostly
She still has a lot to work with 🌷 Thinning is a normal part of life! Some people start at 20, 40, 60. I love that you use real clients! Beautiful job 💌
@@DeeperThanHairTv hi, I'm 51 my hair has been shedding, thinning gor the last 5 years or so, I've been on Blood pressure meds I took my self off twice, thinking it was causing my hair to thin. I noticed you didn't give any kind of remedy for it. Please Help!!
@kim mclucas Did you find going off the meds helped? Obviously controlling blood pressure is more important than having thick hair, but I’m on BP meds too and my hair is falling out like a mf. I’m also on other stuff that might be causing this, so I’m really curious if going off the BP meds had any effect for you? It sucks watching it all vanish, eh :/
@@maamebenewaa9203 just don't perm your hair its the strongest chemical you can use on your skin and it goes directly on your slcap which is why it burns just heat train and do keratin treatments
here to say that hair DOES age. I had more hair than anyone had seen growing up but I'm not that person anymore. been kinda humbling (not entirely in a bad way)
Thank you for commenting this!. I have been trying to figure out why my hair is not as healthy as it used to be. I haven't been using my fresh aloe vera. Gotta find a new source.
@@brightasyellow I blend the the aloe vera stove top with extra virgin olive oil on medium-high heat. Pour it into my oil bottle once they've become 1 oil. That usually takes up half the bottle. Then I add close to half Jamaican Black Castor oil and shake the bottle to blend the mixtures. And I put it on my hair like a minimum of 3 times a week. When my hair is getting really thin, I just do that along with low manipulation styles (wigs I don't glue down). So I'll just struggle braid two sections all the way back & wear my wig for that week, all the while treating my hair with the Aloe Vera mixture. I also pre-poo with Aloe Vera, too. I noticed improvement in my hair's strength & thickness by week 5 of using this mixture. I noticed a small portion of my edges (that hasn't grown for 2 years) start to grow back in due to this oil. My hair is still gray in some areas but it's way thicker now.
Thank You for explaining while you go along. I too am experiencing thinning as I get older an had some of the very questions that you answered. I LOVE your videos. Thank You for sharing your expertise and Blessings with us. I LOVE YOUR WORK!
Right?! I took immunosuppressants for 10 years. My hair came out in clumps. Over the years my thick hair turned so thin. The meds also affected my melanin production and I'm trying to revive both now I'm no longer on them... My brown skin is coming back so fingers crossed on my curls 🤞🏼
All grays are not created equal! lol! Some gray comes in beautiful and soft and manageable and some comes in wiry and hard to tame. It's not always the color but the texture and difficulty in styling it that people don't like. And, of course, the negative association with being "old and decrepit" don't help either!
It was until 9:15 that I realized that those weren’t bald spots but just her natural hair color. I was sitting here thinking she had large bald spots this whole time. 😅 I need new glasses.
Totally Her hair will continue to thin as long as she keeps trying to color the gray. Older people without gray is a give-a-away that the hair is dyed. Her hair turned out beautifully as usual with this hair specialist.
ohhhhhhhhh I was SO CONFUSED! Bc I was like “she HAS hair....so where is it all coming from with these big gaps on her scalp!”! Sped to 9:15. Then re watched lol. I for SURE thought those were just spots that had really thinned. Nope! Just roots in bright lighting lol thanks for making this comment!
I appreciate her channel because she tries to keep whatever hair her customers have on their head unlike some of the other channels that are scissor happy and shave everyone bald.
I’m glad you explained that about the semi permanent hair color and her natural color at the roots because I was so concerned that she was developing alopecia because the parts look so wide
I agree! This time I wasn't paying attention when the video started though and I looked back up a split second before it went off the screen and my brain read "don't just exit, LEAVE" 😭🤚 I had to back it up cuz I was like wait WHAT but then I laughed for a good minute about it
i don't have this hair texture but it's reassuring to see people talk about hair thinning/alopecia cause it does happen!! and it's really nice to see how you address it and that there are haircuts that can work to reduce its effect
I think she should oil her scalp with Jamaican castor oil. And use stimulating hair products on the scalp. Something with tea tree oil and peppermint oil.
You are AMAZING!!!!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 You did an awesome job!!!! Her hair is beautiful! That cut is 🔥🔥🔥🔥!!! There is nothing more to say!!!! YOU HAVE IT!!!! BOOM!!!!!❤
No lie, when I (a white girl) was 10 years old I wanted African American hair. Still do. When our hair thins, there is no texture to lift it up, no bounce. You can do SO MUCH with AA hair.
@Stella Aster she didn’t say she had thin hair I don’t know why you seem annoyed at her comment but she said “when” straight hair thins it usually doesn’t have enough texture to manipulate the hair into appearing like it’s full whereas curly and kinky textures give that illusion, she never said AA hair doesn’t thin and she also never said all white hair thins. Reading is essential, bye!!!
I'd love to have someone like you do my hair. Someone who *still* cares about doing hair on every level. ✅️ still passionate! ✅️ still informative! ✅️ not just in it for the pay! Gratitude for your time and energy! Seeing your videos from So Cal🌴.
Good morning, I'm from South Africa, my girls and i love your channel. we learned a lot from watching your channel. sum times we say well go to america just for you to style our 4c hair. you are doing a great job. god bless you and your hands
The results are always "chef's kiss". I just love the time you take with each client and the knowledge you impart on how to help make the person sitting in your chair look and feel their best.
The personal summers and thinning is what I am going through now. Just started watching your channel and lo and behold your shop is in Philly. I definitely need to schedule an appointment since I’m local.
I hope that you'll do a video on supplies you recommend for cosmetology students and those as interested in going to beauty School real soon have a blessed new week 💯‼️📺😎🤔🤦🏻♀️✨🔮💰💱🥰
Little by little I learn new things from you Ms. kee. I hope to get my hair done by you one day. Imma save some money soon I have to seek out a professional for my hair I do believe my hair isn't growing because of heat damage and bad health detacts.
Hair is beautiful! Great video🚩80% of African American women have tumors in the uterus which can cause hair thinning. This means that we suffer more from Alopecia and other hair problems. My doctor never told me I had uterus tumors. I had to insist on a sonogram to figure it out. By the time I found the tumors they were so big that I looked 5 months pregnant. I had thin hair but after the tumors are gone hair is fuller.
I learn more everytime I watch you. My hair isn't thinning much yet: however, these grays are ruthless and harder to manage LOL. Anything in particular to help tame them.
Try purad'or shampoo. I had to stop using it because it made my shedding nonexistent. My shedding was never that serious. It wasn't for me. It's more for anyone who's dealing with heavy shedding. Try it out.
I'm always here for your transformations! No shade to any other YT stylist but some can take some tips from you on how to trim ends the proper way 😌. Its hard to come across stylist like you. Wish I could get my natural hair done by you at least 1 time!💇🏽♀️❤
Girl you are speaking facts!!! I’m in my early 30s and although my hair is long it’s not like my “kid” hair more full and thick. My little sis loves to tell me this and I’m like I had 3 kids and I’m old now. I have noticed that my individual strands don’t feel as thick. Oh well
I take vitamins like prenatals and a multivitamin which really helps ! And I use organic Jamaican Castor oil like 3 times a weeks and my hair grows even thicker ! My edges came back overnight too !
A male produced hormone that also affects females called DHT could be the cause for that. As we get older, DHT levels can increase (stress, depression, hormone imbalance, menopause, medications (even store bought medications), diet, etc.) but you would have to visit a dermatogist to get tested. Dermatologist can prescribe some great things to you to lower that hormone and stop it from increasing. Certain foods such as tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, watermelon, almonds, walnuts, eggs, white mushrooms, kale, pistachios, as well as lots of water intake can help you to grow your hair back thicker and fuller. Switch your shampoos, conditioners, & even mosturizers to ones that include more DHT blockers & saw palmello (Nioxin, Rogain for men, etc.). Please check with your doctors and dermatologists to get tested for DHT.
I absolutely looooove watching your vids. You are so educational and exude a wonderful personality....AND you do some bomb ass hair baby! Thank you for sharing your skills :)
Mostly unrelated, but I love that you say "Do this the way they want you to for the test, and once you have that do what you want." I'm an English teacher and I always try and tell my students that. "This is the way that the people testing you and grading you want you to do it, but that's not the only way to speak English."
I STILL have scars on my knuckles from trying to cut past the first knuckle!! Not to mention how embarrassing and inconvenient it was to slice a chunk off your knuckle in the middle of a haircut!! Listen to this young lady!! She speaks the truth!! Lol!! And yes those "personal summers" ain't no joke!! Her hair looks amazing!!! She's a beautiful woman anyway!!
Her scalp is super clean and the hair is moisturized. How do achieve a very clean scalp without drying out the tresses? I usually coat my hair with a creamy conditioner and then apply the shampoo directly to my scalp.
I have seborrheic dermatitis and my hair fall out is just beyond me, our hair is our crown and when you feel like you are losing it...let’s just say I don’t wish it on anyone
When I blow dry, it looks like an afro. I flat iron and it looks like a stylist's blow dry. Then I flat iron again on a higher setting like 420 and it's silky except for some areas crown, edges. Then I say screw it and take out my pressing comb and press my edges and run the hot comb like a comb forward and backwards. That's my silk press.
I'm gonna thru the thinning stage & have "bald" spots along with postpartum shedding 🤦🏽♀️ unfortunately I've had mild alopecia b4 but this time it may be from age & hormonal changes ... I wanna cut it all off but I'm gonna try to hang on & let it grow out healthy hopefully !!! 🙏🏼🤷🏽♀️🤞🏽
Everyone here is talking about how they’re losing their hair at like 40+ years, meanwhile here I am, 20 years old, with half less hair that I had when I was 17. I’m mad mad.
@@DeeperThanHairTv I’m hoping that vitamins and a healthy lifestyle will bring back at least some of the thickness that I used to have. Fingers crossed!
I was like you. I got anemia from my periods all through my younger years and had trouble with my hair. Now I know I'm at risk for it and take iron regularly. At 45 my hair is thicker and healthier than it was during times in my younger years. I was relaxed then too. I think that was part of it for me.
