What I think about your comment, "I'll save my family first" is SPOT ON! I want my government to behave the same way. I don't want all of my money going everywhere else. Take care of your citizens first. If there is something left over we can talk about who else we might help.
Andy love how you are honest about everything you don't beat around the bush. That is what this country needs anymore not to be coddled like little kids. Love watching your channel keep up the good work
Excellent video, I've often wondered about the process of working the fields. The camera angle is good. The order is interesting, as a non farmer, I had no clue. Thanks!
@@TheGrumpyFarmer what a joke most of these so called social media influencers are! Agco gave the Curley haired dude in Missouri a new tractor and planter to use this year. A real step up from the junk he was using. Do they really think that will convince me to buy?
Some farmers around where I live just started disking their fields late last week. It's been so damn wet, I'm surprised they got any corn planted, but they planted corn and soybeans last week. I'm not a farmer, but I do know that late May/early June is a little late to be planting corn. There are many fields near me that haven't been disked yet either. I don't think the guy that you mentioned has his priorities straight at all. He's going to fail as a farmer if he thinks he has to go work someone else's field first. Thanks for another great video, Andy!
Man what I would give to drive out to Iowa just to kick Cole in the nuts. Not that I've watched any of their videos in a couple years but for Christ sake.. the issue I have is the large percentage of already misinformed Americans these days watch videos like that and that's what they think farming is like. That's something about the boots.. I had to laugh, can you imagine you're a young girl and you just landed this job to search for content creators to have them promote a product, and you're the girl that gets the grumpy farmer 😂 and your boss is like "I don't care if he told you to fuck off Clara you sell those boots!" Haha.. take it easy Andy
Cole belongs on Nickelodeon. It's basically a kids channel. Trump will turn the democrats negative into a positive, 52 million is a pretty good start 👍 ✌️
Just found your channel and I love your honest no bullshit attitude. Doofy had a comment about a comment on your channel about him so I found you to see what it was about and very glad I did. All he does is brag about himself and beg people to send him free shit. He’s a clown show for sure. I hit subscribe on yours before the first video was over. I’ll probably binge watch your channel tonight. Love your style. I grew up on a farm in Indiana and worked on several large farms over my life never had opportunity to farm on my own but owned a couple Peterbilts for almost 25 years hauled ag products to stay involved in agriculture. Look forward to more of your videos
Thanks Andy, always enjoy the videos and rants. Usually, you're right on so I don't mind listening at all. Some things just need to be said. Things are looking good at your farm. 😊👍
Running the combine after you wash and grease is a great idea! I have to say your a lot smarter than i envision a New Yorker to be after watching New Yorkers on TV,
Thank you for the one more thing! I emailed them to see if they would notify me when the new style would be available and they said they would. So I guess I'll wait and see, I'm sure they will probably double the price on the new ones. I wonder if the code will be effective on the new style. lol
you were talking about custom combining. what a lot people dont understand when you custom farm is the wear and tear that you put on your equipment that you purchased for your own farm
Man you're right on brother! All we are gonna do now is go to court with freaking everything. God have mercy on us all. God bless you and your family Andy
We knew this would be the outcome of the trial in NYC but I am encouraged by the number of people that can see that it is political prosecution. Hopefully the numbers are so big for Trump in November that it is more than they can overcome by playing their games! 🤞
What happened in the court was exactly what was supposed to happen, it showed how corrupt the justice system is and what a bunch of clowns they are. But the biggest thing it has done is wake up people around the world, and it has set a precedent for the down fall of EVERY corrupt P.O.S PRESIDENT and politician that has sold out the US and its citizens. NOW THE PAIN AND RETRIBUTION. Trump is absolutely fine, these charges are nothing. Enjoy the show folks, it’s going to be good.
Great video!!! Glad to hear Barb is healing up and feeling good enough to get back in the tractor. I was curious if you were going to mention the boots in the video. Glad they’re still working out. I’ve seen other folks promoting their boots and seem to be pleased as well. I wouldn’t worry too much about that model being phased out. Hopefully their replacement will be even better. Have a great Sunday and productive upcoming week. 🍺🇺🇸
Soil prep kinda sucks. But seeing seedlings popping thru after planting is satisfying to the soul. Then the hopes and prayers for regular rain and consistent weather are next. I hope mother nature is kind to you this year compared to last year.
Andy I like your attitude that you don't sugar code anything if you hurt someone's feeling's, that's the world we are living today about people's feeling's. They sure as hell don't care either it's all about themselves and screw the next person, keep up the good work and I enjoy your channel and when you and Jim go live.
It’s a hard no for me on any custom work. Maybe there’s money there, but I never benefitted. Was always harder on equipment, the fields were always smaller than they’d say, and they were never ready. I’ll always just focus on mine, and let someone else try that. By the way, I finally learned from you and got all of my planting equipment washed up right after planting this year!
I been happy with the pair of boots I ordered from them. It will be interesting to see how they hold up in 6 months. I used the grumpy farmer discount also. Hopefully they will honor the deal they made with you and you get a few pennies off the deal. Sounds like you’ll need the money to rebuild your planter next spring since farming seems so bleak according to some of the RU-vid farmers.
@@michaelbrash8843 Ha!!! Gonna start on beans tomorrow. Get rain every few days and then sit 3-4 days. Kinda hard to get much done. Wheat looks to be 2 weeks away from being ready also.
The white lithium does stay put. Kendall oil did an open gear and cable lube. Very sticky. Havent checked the price of the lithium spray since the battery craze.
I am down to my last couple spray bottles so I’ll need more and I’m sure it’s more expensive just like everything else has gotten to be compared to three or four years ago. That’s why I try to buy stuff in bulk.
We do really great with custom work. Mostly soybean planting. I’m a huge 20” proponent. Noticeable reduction in disease pressure, yet the rows still canopy soon enough. But organic time tables are way different. We start way later, go in with relative maturities that would work in Alaska, the genetics come south ok. So we’re done with harvest by early September and the cover crops go on at the same time. Million dollar planters, and $50k combines. lol, it’s comical. This year I cut row crop acreage down by 1/3 and brought in a lot more cattle. I hope I live long enough to see us get back to only growing for our own livestock, and what we direct market. I just see a lot of people being forced to choose between an ancient grain or organic edible dry bean, and what they can afford. So far, inflation has pushed people in to cooking at home, and they are reaching for high quality ingredients. But in the future, I see them being pushed towards even cheaper options.
The thing that got me with corn puke is when they went way over budget on the bin site then wanted everyone to help pay for it by selling them a jar of dirt. What a loser.
He deserves a little credit, getting as involved w farm as young as he did. At exactly 24 and one month I decided to take over the family dairy when my Dad died. All I knew was the whens and how's to do stuff, nothing else. Learned way more real world useful stuff the next 12 months than I did in 13yrs in school. And I graduated in '89. Still don't know enough and that includes a lot of the why's. I just say that's how Dad did it.
The problem with custom field work is that if you are fussy with your equipment , is that usually there is junk out in the fields to wreck stuff and nobody’s going to pay the repairs bills. Same as you , if someone had a family member that had health issues or death in the family, I had no problem helping out
That's what I like about you Grumpy, you keep it real and tell it like it is! Say, I was wondering, whatever happened with that neighbor of yours whose house burned? Were they able to rebuild or did they just move a trailer onto the property? Thanks...
Well, it took forever to fight with the insurance company. They were living in a fifth wheel camper for a while but finally the spring they got there house put up.
we had a guy around us start dairy farming because he drove by farms and seen them out in the field . well lets just say he lost his farm . he didnt know what was going on in the barns
Either Custom farm or farm for yourself. Our stuff comes first. I’ll help a friend when they need it but when I try to make money off someone it cost me more in repairs.
What happened to Pres Trump is what happens in a one party system. I feel his pain because many years ago I had a Democ-Rat DA and gang of Albany cops take a disliking to me me and almost got put me in jail for 10 years. I've never commited a felony in my life, ever. It cost me every penny I had to get out of that. If I knew where it is, I'd piss on his greve every Christmas. (really!) I agree with you about cornstar. I don't watch his stuff anymore. He whines too much. I hope you have a great season/crop this year!
You are correct doofus, as you call it fits perfectly. He's a hobby farmer, trying to get convinced everybody that he's making a living farm and the way he farming. We really? It's tight he's gonna go broke.I can't wait for the auction
@@TheGrumpyFarmer cry about it old man you mad because he has way more subs than you. He literally left home with his father owing him money he'll never get you didn't. He works ten times harder than you ( that wouldn't take much) and he is way more popular than you ( 24k subs):him (69.5k) that must be why you're pouting also he has friends that he works with and nobody comes to help you that says all we need to know. 😂😂😂 Yes these people are under your skin you're a p.rick that's jealous of everything. Clearly you're crying about custom work 82acres of beans is one day. And 🤡 boy he couldn't plant because his land is wet so he is out making $1400 a day trucking manure.
@@Otherrandomguy42 yup you’re a Dufus ass licker if you actually believe he’s making $1400 a day 🤦♂️🤣. I bet you think Biden is a great president also.
The US is officially a banana republic now, thanks to a jury that couldn’t put aside personal views, and look at things with a much wider view. They didn’t have their or their kids or grandkids future in mind. It’s a shame and I think like you said, those of us with common sense are just tired of the BS. Take care Grumpster and once again here to finishing corn🍺🍺🇺🇸
Those who say they would help others 1st most likely would not save their family but only save themselves. It's too bad about the boots. I hate when you find a good show only to find that it is no longer available. I'm glad Berb is able to get back in the set and help you out. My wife is too afraid to help out with field work. So most of the time, I'm by myself. However, my daughter was a big help the other day, so I was able to beet the rain and finish up beans. Weather man forecasted .5" and we ended up with almost an inch.
That suck's about the shoes, even if the new ones are better, at least they could make it public that better ones will be released soon, now a question mark left behind to them, further more I appreciate all farmers, hat's off, I am lucky to live in a country that is self sustained in all foods that a human body needs, obviously every country import some shortfall's or exotic items but in books the farmer in the world MUST be protected by any government
Your Right We Live In Very Troubled Times With Pudding Brain Wondering Around Lost I'm Voting For Trump If He's In Jail Out On Bond or Anything Else The United States is In Big Trouble Without Him Hopefully Barb,s Ankle Gets Better Heals Right can't Have The Hired Help Out Of Work Take Care Go Trump ✌️
Could never figure out why a wanna be farmer would expect another person to worry about there measly 80 acres . They should rent it out if you dont want to buy the eqipment.
Out there getting after it!! Glad to hear Barb is doing some better!! Prayers for a full recovery soon!! Really enjoyed seeing the close ups of the disk, that was very cool!! This country is unreal, literally unreal....thats the icing on the cake 🤬🤬🤬 What in heck, send you discontinued boots, then play it off? 😳😳🤬🤬 I hope things are still going well Andy!! I cant stop laughing when you reference the couple of ones you did 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't see how custom work should ever come before your own farm? 🤔🧐 Anyway, same day slacker today.... Dad's knee replacement recovery this week has taken its toll!! Thank you sir for bringing us along!!! Look fwd to seeing wjats next!!! 😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍🌾🌾🌾🌽🌽🌽🚜🚜🚜
Still a slacker 🤦♂️ and trust me I’ve got a 91 year old across the road that’s been adding to the stress the last few weeks. I’ll just leave it at that for now
All I have is a couple of gardens, buddy tills them with tractor mounted tiller, I bought a little used 4' 5shank ripper/all purpose plow, mabe max 11" deep, hope that little 30 hp kabota can pull it.
@@TheGrumpyFarmer for sure! Few inches of rich black soil, then dark brown mostly clay, we will do several passes before really dropping it.wont be long, corn is already 10' tall, tallest stalks in one garden, another that had to be replanted tallest of another variety of taller corn is 8 feet, and hasn't started tasseling yet.
Outstanding video on the back end of the disc and those rolling baskets. I sure would hate to be a weed and see that thing coming at me! Agree with what you said about sluffy ag. Last video saw, he was going to pay someone to spread some fertilizer on, while he made the big money with his old baling-wired together Mack. I've done some custom work also, and have found when it is all over, you have paid for the wear and tear on your equipment, but lost working days on your own stuff. 'Course I never had a baby and mother to support not living under my roof that could help out.
Your right. . . I was surprised that your gonna do more side work for mailbox man. . .you need to double or triple your hourly rate and have them sign a document saying you not responsible for anything that is reasonable pertaining to incidental damages. . . Tripple or let him/her find another person with millions of dollars in tractors combines. ETC. You take great pride in everything you do.
Great video Andy, John has Potteiger turbo-tills.. I almost think they do a better job over pulling a disk, and a culti-packer. Not really sure if they do a better job over the brillion roller-harrows though.
You are 💯right on custom work. Just wearing equipment out. And you can’t charge enough. If you do they bitch! You have to do your own first! We do some baling of hay and I won’t cut unless they say. Rain is hard on hay!!
@@TheGrumpyFarmer all I do is custom harvesting (sweet pes & sweet corn) for processor's and written into my contract is the processor pays for fuel. Been that way since the early 80s, fuel prices effect the bottom line big time especially at over 1200 gallons a day.
Haven't watched in awhile. Just gonna comment cuz im pissy right now, and then i see your title for this video. 😂😂😂. Fucking NYSEG. Powers been out 2x this morning, this time at least 5 minutes. Sunny,80, and lil breezy. And they cant keep juice on. Someone musta plugged in their fucking electric mower...
Actually, there has been a few guys south of me a half an hour or so in the last five or six years have tried planting some soy beans the end of March, and in April a few times it worked out and the other times it was a disaster
No that was planting soybeans with the grain drill. They planted in 7 1/2 inch spaced rows corn planner was in the last few videos. The corn is planted in 30 inch spaced rows. I should remember to be more specific about those things for the non-farmers.
I find your complaining about comments entertaining, It’s one of the main reasons I watch your show…. Whenever RU-vid actually reminds me of it…. So don’t stop farming or bitching. lol. 👍. 🙏🇺🇸
