In August I read Book Lovers, Know My Name and I'm Glad My Mom Died and the last two were definitely my favorites. The audiobook for Jennette's book was so powerful, I'm glad I chose that format. I have never been a huge autobiography or memoir book person but WOW, I was this month.

East of eden is one of my favourite books ever, it is so well written and just an incredible work of fiction about family and the meaning of biblical stories!

noelle YES!! you need to read East of Eden! genuinely one of my all-time favourite books. it's no wonder it's considered Steinbeck's magnum opus. you would totally love it 💛

I really want to read Jekyll and Hyde! I usually find that those stories we "all know" tend to be very different from what the cultural zeitgeist distills them down to. I read Frankenstein after having read Paradise Lost 8 years ago and was blown away by how much nuance there was beyond the film/tv tropes. Now it's one of my favourite books and I read it every autumn!

First off I love the mic holding! Secondly, I read 19 books in august and I have NO IDEA HOW!!! but I was definitely drawn to cozy mysteries this month :) I read 10 cozy mystery/cozy mystery adjacent books in august. My favorite was definitely Magic, Lies & Deadly Pies by Misha Popp. I wasn’t expecting to love it nearly as much as I did.

In august I read Where the Crawdads Sing and I really enjoyed it! Many people said it was really slow, but i actually loved the in-depth descriptions of the nature and isolation the main character was experiencing. I think it showed you how appreciative and loving the main character was towards the wilderness around her. The twist at the end, honestly, was a little muddy and felt kind of random? The way it was revealed just seemed so nonchalant for how big of a twist it was! But overall gave it 5/5 stars because i was obsessed with it and finished it so quickly. Love you noelle! :)

I love the way you talk about classics, it makes me excited to revisit some books I wrote off because I was assigned to read them 😅 I also loved Jeanette McCurdy’s book this month, I loved iCarly as a kid but am so proud of her for writing such a beautifully-written and brave book. Like the title alone is already a gut punch! I also really loved Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and rounded out the month with a little sad bitch book moment. SO GLAD YOU LOVED The Joy Luck Club! The way I feel about Grapes of Wrath is... it is a book everyone should read but it isn't one of my favorite books. I do have strong memories associated with it because my 11th-grade high school English teacher was OBSESSED with that novel and drew out so many metaphors for us ecstatically.

The audiobook for I’m Glad My Mom Died was the first book I finished in august. & I was blown away. It’s odd to say I enjoyed it I suppose, because the content was so difficult, but she wrote this SO WELL. As someone who really loved watching Jennette on iCarly when I was younger, this book opened my eyes & broke my heart for her in so many ways. Because I just had no idea. It’s so sad, but I’m so proud of her for writing this. 🖤

My favorite book this month was Linda Thompson’s memoir. I read a lot of memoirs this month. Her writing touched my soul and she wrote things that I didn’t know how to put into words. Definitely a surprise favorite read.

I read Jane Eyre this month.. I was actually shocked by how much I enjoyed it. It takes forever to get through some parts of it, but the ending was so satisfying for me idk why hahah

I finally listened to Book Lovers in August and absolutely fell in love with Julia Whelan’s narration!! It was my first Julia Whelan audiobook and she definitely held up to your high praises 😊 time to devour all of her other works!! Hope you are doing well 💖

My favorite book this month was North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell. I actually was surprised I liked it so much because I don't usually go for classics. It inspired me to finally read The Picture of Dorian Gray which I also ended up loving. Now I'm on a classics kick and want to read them all! Thinking A Tree Grows in Brooklyn next.

If you ever watched Boy Meets World I highly recommend listening to their podcast, Pod Meets World, where they often talk about being child actors and how they were lucky enough to escape the unfortunate reality most child actors go through. Also Rider Strong has a book podcast called Literary Disco.

In August I finally finished The Body Keeps the Score. It was a slow burn for me, but overall a decent and informative book. I think it would be a great one for everyone to read + it put me at 52/52 for my Goodreads challenge for 2022! Now I have 4 months to just keep reading through books! 🤩

I love the little mic!! And as is usual for me, I mostly read romance and wasn't too surprised by them. HOWEVER, I listened to 3 audiobooks in August, which is more than I listened to all last year. It's not my usual format, but I found some good (short) books. And my favorite was "Harlots, Whores, and Hackabouts" by Kate Lister, because it was such an interesting look into history.

I read 6 books in august, 3 of which were 5 stars, but none of those were surprises, I knew I’d love all of them. (them being if we were villains, before the coffee gets cold and the girl who fell beneath the sea). I physically am not able to pick a favourite among these 3 books, they all blew me away but in completely different ways. I also read a romance this month, which I surprisingly enjoyed, since that’s normally not my genre, so that was fun!

My favorite book this month was i remember nothing: and other reflections by nora ephron and i think you would really love it. She was a big romcom writer in the 80/90s (sleepless in seattle, you've got mail, when harry met sally etc). It's a short memoir/ essay collection but it's really fun and witty. I feel like I read it in a frenzy.
