Here's a random fact to make her first solo MV even cuter: her signature ever since she debuted with snsd has a butterfly in it. Butterfly is called NaBi in korean and is formed by the 2 characters: Na ("I" in english - the title of her first MV) and Bi (means "rain" and is the title of her second MV). He also dabbles in music as does their younger sister. -BTW you should check out Verbal Jint, he is one of the greatest from the rap/hip-hop genre.

The whole MV was actually filmed in Auckland, New Zealand, at a bar called the Portland Public House

basically, she's working as a waitress, her boss is being shitty towards her, her job is tiring, she feels trapped, at the same time (almost like in a parallel universe) she is out there in nature, free, doing what she wants, happy. this is her dream, it's the person she wants to be. the taeyeon in the nature interacts with a "magic butterfly" and it flies off, later, we see the taeyeon in the city interact with the same butterfly, and it almost seems to like, plant the idea in her head that "no. i shouldn't be here, this isn't who i am." she quits the job, takes her boss's car and goes to the place of her dreams. meanwhile, there are shots of the taeyeon in the nature where she almost seems like she is waiting for her, or expecting her to arrive. so maybe, the taeyeon in the nature purposely "sent" the butterfly to go get her. anyways, the two meet, conveying the "finding yourself" message. and the two I's merge into one.

This is the song and voice that got me into K-Pop in the fist place. I am forever grateful for Taeyeon's abilities and her humility and her grace. All of that pulled me in to her music, which very quickly expanded to other groups because even she has people she looks up to. So now I LOVE a LOT of K-Pop and I am very thoroughly in the rabbit-hole which still seems to be bottomless. And I will always be happy about that. :) Thank you, Kim Taeyeon.

Lol it was filmed in New Zealand. But this song and MV had such a huge impact on me that it made me into a kpop stan, I didn't even listen to kpop before I saw this MV. It's still one of my all time favorite songs from my all time favorite artist. I is not the title track to her first full album but it is the title track to her first mini album. She may only have 2 full length albums but she has 3 mini albums plus a japanese mini album, a christmas album, and many singles and ost's. So overall she has a lot of songs. I is the title track of her first mini album Starlight and why for her second mini Then her first album title track is fine, with make me love you as the title for the repackage Then theres This Christmas from her third mini Something new on her fourth mini Then four seasons which eventually was on the purpose album (4 songs on purpose she performed for her solo concert late last year, Here I Am, Do You Love Me, Love You Like Crazy and Gravity) I'd probably recommend Rain for her vocals or Why and Starlight since they have a story together and the vocals(starlight also features dean, in the song and I think the mv, I forget)
