It's Suicide Squad - every member is supposed to he expendable. They'll throw every superpowered criminal they have at the problem until it's solved, even D-listers like Killer Moth. Either the problems get solved or the prisons get more space. Hell I don't think even Waller herself thought they'd actually take down the Justice League, but y'know. Plot armor.
Like soldiers whom were threatened to be shot by their own men if they ran backwards instead of towards the enemy. Sometimes humanity.. REALLY really just wants to spread death.
@@MagicWorm321 honestly I think it’s a sad case of a studio who had a good thing going but then the executives and the higher-ups came and we’re like no we want a Looter shooter and that’s why we got the final product that we did. I feel like if they would’ve just let the devs do their thing this game would’ve been amazing.
@@richardthomas2354 Ngl, I tought a Dragon would eat me if a abandon the map limits in The Witcher III (Because it say that message), bs, it just TP me back instead, that was so dissapointing, great game thou
Considering how little respect they paid to Arkham Batman (and for that matter the rest of the League heroes), does it really surprise you they couldn’t be arsed to do their research and find that out?
> Returning characters Batman and Harley nothing like their Arkham counterparts > King Shark looks nothing like he did in Assault on Arkham, where he's already been killed. Unless he had a son or brother who stepped in as the new King Shark, he shouldn't be in this game > Killer Moth is mentioned when he was killed by Red Hood Yeah, this isn't the Arkhamverse. Adjacent to it, but not the one from the Arkham games.
@@xFlareLeon They are less stylized and more realism-based with higher mesh resolutions assault on arkham isnt necessarily canon, and there could be multiple king sharks there have been multiple killer moths, someone else couldve taken the mantle
@@xFlareLeonassault on Arkham and the comics have been considered non canon for years, but now that people need ammunition to immediately say this game isn’t canon they consider those canon, completely ignoring how those things also have things that don’t add up to the Arkham timeline
@@xFlareLeon you forgot to mention Deadshot, who was a white russian in Arkham City and Origins, but now he's afro-american, cause apparently that other guy with the insane riccochet skills was an "imposter". -_-
Yeah... It's all a bit tragic, really. It would have been infinitely more satisfying as a street-level brawler with destructible environments, but that would probably have taken actual effort.
@@dominothealphaandomega5512Nah Boomerang is actually a fun character. Unique traversal mechanics and a fun personality. (mostly) I say replace Deadshot. He's easily the most boring out on the cast, a bar that's already low enough.
@@dominothealphaandomega5512why the Captain Boomerang hate? He’s actually a cool villain. He’s pretty iconic as a Flash rogue, and Flash has one of the best rogues galleries. He’s obviously not the strongest character ever, but he’s pretty skilled at what does (I mean he regularly takes on Flash ffs) and the speed force traversal is pretty cool. I like Harley Quinn I honestly do, but she’s comparatively really weak to almost any character who’s ever been on the Suicide Squad. I get she has a history with them and is an iconic character in the Arkhamverse, but I’d rather have a plethora of characters over her. Killer Moth, Prometheus, Bane, Deathstroke, Black Manta, etc. I’m hoping we get all those characters as DLC since they’ve all been directly name dropped or teased in some way. And they could all be pretty fun depending on how they’re implemented. Bane pulling up with his main weapon being an rpg would be awesome.
Yep. Spot on. Multiverses and clones are what happens when writers think a Deus Ex Machina plot device is too intellectually challenging for their audience.
One thing I will congratulate this game for is bringing back killer moth. It’s just nice to know he exists still (seeing as it’s suspected Jason killed him in Arkham knight)
@@darkpaw1522I don’t remember there being multiple unless you are talking about other Batman comics but Jason Todd has canonically killed killer moth in Arkham knight
@@Hermanoskamado batman was defeated by 4 people fighting him at once, one of whom is baiscally a metacreature and the other is a master assassin and one of batmans nemesis. only in the head of crybabies it's somehow rewritten itself into "harley has beaten batman"
Wait, no Arkham style death screens I mean I already had a feeling they wouldn’t be in the game but imagine how cool they’d be (ex: the justice league taunting you after death)
That would be dope, I was thinking the same thing too to be honest but you have to remember this game can be played with 4 players so that would've made it tricky. With the death shown in this video you could've had Amanda Waller talking
Honestly even if the game is bad, it would have been epic to see the league and Amanda Waller giving you a death screen. (Imagine if instead of her saying it on coms, she said it in death screen of her standing over Harley after death “shame on me for thinking you’d listen. *grabs com* get me killer moth.”
The game is just okay. Yes it was overhated I know, but it has a lot of cons than pros. Though I guess the biggest con is tying it to Arkham verse which just outright does not make sense for Harley as a character. She in this game does not really act like the Harley Quinn in the Arkhamverse. Almost as if it's a different Harley Quinn. and that's only the beginning of it. They shouldn't have tied it to Arkham verse in the first place @@kingol4801
@@kingol4801yeah, darn those people wanting AAA studios to deliver a product that does more than clear the minimum bar. Have standards, dude. This is not a good look.
Smart move choosing Moth She wants someone Braniac won't suspect And someone who'd be weak enough to overpower so Waller can force them to help They try that with Croc, Grundy, Freeze, Two Face or Ivy and they'll lose men before they can force em to help
you know what the worst part about details like this in bad games is? That someone thought of THIS shit, something that if it wasn't around nobody would bat an eye. But they didn't have even a passing thought for the egregious bad decisions
@@bonkismonkey He's either talking about the generic looter shooter live service BS (in which case fair enough) or he's just another whiner upset that Batman is actually fallible instead of an unbeatable god.
@@SarcyBoi41Shut your cockhole. It be different had they used any other Batman, but this Batman they used Arkham one, just got his entire legacy ruined.
Guy has no idea how game development works. Game Director will not come and check if it has details or not, they are trying to make what the producer told them to do. I'm sure most of the Rocksteady employees didn't want to do a looter shooter, including the game director, but if the producers tell you to do it, you do it.
Imagine if Suicide Squad had a roster of 15 unique supervillains in a single player game. You go off course, fuck with Waller, or simply get killed? Congrats, its permadeath, choose a new character and restart at the last checkpoint. Do you want to save Deathstroke for the last boss fight, or use him earlier to power through the earlier missions? Basically, I just wanna beat the game with Crazy Quilt after Harley, Deadshot, Riddler and the rest of the roster are all dead over the course of one mission.
Killer Moth is a perfect example of what i hate about these kind of DC projects. The minor villains should get upgraded to badass levels like Mr. Freeze and Sportsmaster were, not slaughtered for a cheap joke.
@@thesithofearth3617Not this new version, no. The early comic book version is awesome. Well-characterized, with a very strong emotional arc that allows Harley to grow and change from her experiences, shifting from villainous henchman and eventually anti-hero in a very natural way. It's doubly impressive to me that she began as a minor character from Batman: The Animated Series then grew in popularity until she was canonized in comics. The new version of the character (which I think, sadly, began with her character model from Rocksteady's Arkham games) where she dresses like a stripper and is insufferably annoying with endless assaults of try-hard memetic dialogue is not awesome, no. It feels like some teenager's fan-fiction parody of the actual character and adds an overly sexualized element which was never part of her original personality. Yeh, Margot Robbie is hot, I don't disagree with that - but Harley Quinn is not a femme fatale sexy badguy, that's Poison Ivy and Catwoman - it's just incorrect attribution. Collectively, Rocksteady and Warner Bros have essentially retconned her character into a manic pixie dreamgirl with an irritating personality and a sex icon appearance. It's sad, because she was once in-fact awesome before she was a household name.
@@OdaKa It doesn't make it less jank even if you say it's a video game. other video games do this trick but they still look more believable than this shit
Yep that's a genius idea. Imagine if the game had a roster with say 20 DC-villains to choose from and whenever one of the four players dies, he respawns from a container/Helikopter/Capsule whatever as one of the other characters. Would be a genius Game-mechanic and also a demonstration of how expandable these people are to Waller. There are so many ways, how they could've made this a good game, it's outrageous that it came out so bad.
Let’s all agree this is canonically what actually happened. Second they were cut loose, they all ran for the invisible boundary, their heads blew up, and Amanda tried calling in other characters from the DC Universe. Save us all the trouble of such a god awful story. If it wasn’t canon, they wouldn’t have made an animation for it right?
Look the game is canon, no amount of being upset about it is gonna magically make it not true, plus the league isn’t even actually dead anyway so idk why people are even complaining anymore
@@bleh6809 You know if anything I hear people saying that a lot more than I’ve seen evidence that isn’t “well my cousin’s sister’s husband said so”. @@bleh6809 Not a clue what you’re talking about, no. I’m willing to hear it out, but until I see something concrete, I’m sticking to what I said before.
An animation ? I fear to not see wich one... The death animation ? It's supposed to be the normality, not a marvelous effort, that they put a death animation of your character dying if you do the thing that end up making your character dying, no ?
Okay but imagine if this were a story based game with a packed roster.. then you could kill member off throughout the story and create some emotional weight.. instead of the same 4 idiots killing Batman on a bench
Are......Are we actually pretending making a brief and simple animation to enforce the lore related reason for the games "out of bounds" mechanic is "Really going above and beyond", that's like the baseline level of effort that should be expected for a $70 game, please tell me I'm misunderstanding this video.
How did you come to that conclusion? All they're doing is just pointing out how they actually did this despite cutting corners in a bunch of other places.
Smart guy: Amenda waller are you sure sending harley quinn captain boomerang killer shark and deadshot to kill the justice league is a good idea? Amenda: yes why? @amirlake3918 There is a easy way to deal with that his death was either retconned or like in the comics someone else took the Mantle-(If I recall correctly there has been multiple Killer Moths in the comics) seems plausible to me
Damn, it feels uncanny to see Arkham Harley's head literally explode, like, batman's death feels weird too but he just ragdolls, same as when you die in the other games But her head is pretty much gone, nasty
