In this video I share with you guys that I am moving and my background might change in the future. Sorry to disappoint those that don't like my channel, I'm not actually going away. But I might be doing a few more faceless videos than I normally do until I get resituated.
So in this video I talk a bit about "comic book rooms". I don't know if I will do anything elaborate in my next setup but a collector can dream right?

Good luck on your move! It’s cool being able to plan what you want and have some time and ideas to make it all work for you. I like the comics in the background idea, that’s usually the best to look at for me.

For your new room lighting you can make a simple lighting setup with two pieces of wood, or whatever, and 6 cheap light sockets, 3 per 3 foot length of board. You mount sockets bottom, middle, top. Pick a slightly warm color temperature light. You're basically building a makeup mirror sort of set up since it gives you nice even lighting from both sides. You can buy stick lights with variable color temps if you want to spend the money. You could even add lights along two additional boards, top and bottom making a frame of light around your face. You could even add dimming and control output per light or side. BTW, I'd also go the route of ComicTom101 when he had a 2nd camera set up on something like a copy stand just for better results vs handholding in front of your main camera.

I'm thinking you go with a Kramer Merv Griffin style setup. You can interview guests, bring out artists, then some wild animals, etc. Joking, of course. One thought, I think it would be cool to be able to record at different angles in the room. Then you can show more of your collection and showcase the comics you have created, but not have to fit them in. Meaning depending on what you are talking about may dictate your backdrop. Either way, I will tune in. Salute!

I definitely prefer the "man in his office" set up. It feels more authentic. RU-vid is great because it feels like we're hearing from a real person. Not mainstream media talking piece with an opinion contrived to generate clicks. Obviously that's a bit silly but thems mah feels

The Best set-up in any Video is simply a Killer Wall of books (like you and Lunchmoney etc etc have already) ....So you just need to bring the comic wall closer (it was a tad too far back) ...or move your shooting desk back up to your comic wall..... etc

I am thinking this room has served you well and the aesthetic was simple and clean. I agree with you about keeping it minimalistic and focusing on some of your favorite books. The other rooms are too much and have statues and things you don't need, Its too much ! If anything maybe have two vantage points where you can take another angle for shooting your content and that way it makes it have more books to display behind you, just on different walls. Just my 2 cents.

How about a study, but the books are TPB and Graphic novels, the wall art is comic art and its nice wood stain decor. A power desk where you report everything worth reporting.

Definitely sounds empty! Congratulations on the move. Maybe go Rogan? Wall, comfort chairs, Deadpool/Aviation Gin out for an endorsement, or a D n D bourbon….but agree on hybrid because it invites discussion over art, books, cases vs non-cases - and hey thank you for even asking your audience. That said - your wall is very well set up, but maybe a more relaxed look. Anyway, talked too much - all the best on the new place.

People should be carful showcasing their ( expensive ) collections in videos. I mean I knows it's part of the subculture to show the kinda collector you lot are. Mainly rich in the us .
