Another pointless overtake by a an impatient driver. Dodgy number plates, both main brake lights out and an overtake close to a junction unaware of pedestrians crossing. Hope he feels it was worth it when he was hit in the pocket.
So many motorists are dangerous fools in their actions - there are ONE Million uninsured vehicles on the roads, that’s 1 in 33. Their likelihood of being caught is low but when stopped they are most likely to be involved in crime such as drugs, drink, burglary even firearms- all cyclists should try and get cameras front and rear and check a few number plates - a million or so of us would help Police in catching these people - stay safe 👍
You can get plates that when viewed from a slight angle are greyed out. If you look dead on they look normal. I suspect it’s one of those so he can avoid speed camera fines.
Contrary to opinions of some people , it is not actually illegal to overtake if you can do so safely ; there was nothing in the video that constituted DWDCA , merely a driver progressing past two vehicles who were stopped behind a stationary vehicle , probably because the driver of the camera car was too timid to pass . The pedestrian showed no concern at the car passing the three cars ; there was no suggestion of speeding . Nothing to see here
" there was nothing in the video that constituted DWDCA" The Greater Manchester Police appear to disagree with you. Who to believe? You, or the Greater Manchester Police? Ooh, that's a difficult one.
The vehicle defects are relevant , but there was nothing wrong with the driving , it is actually LEGAL to overtake slower or stopped vehicles if safe to do so , which it was as the pedestrian had crossed safely before the car arrived , at a moderate speed . A 'report' for DWDCA is NOT a conviction and the allegation could easily be refuted - no case to answer . Are you a member of BRAKE by any chance ? Oh , and the police are breaking the law by disclosing action taken , comes under GDPR and subsequent events are not the business of anyone but the complainer , prosecutor and accused .
Cannot see any personal information in that relating to the driver. The pedestrian was unfazed because she was looking in the direction that she would be expecting traffic to come from
Was thinking the same thing. Was a dick move, for sure, but wasn’t illegal unless there was no gap up ahead for them to get back into. Had the pedestrian been a few seconds slower…
