Release tension in the hamstrings to free up the back for more mobility!

Tight hamstrings can make the entire back body feel like it is gripping so in this practice we start with the legs and move up into the hips and low back to relieve tension, open up some space and develop deeper flexibility overall!

I am so happy that I found this - with COVID-19 I haven't been able to go in to my massage therapist to have her work on my lower back and unfortunately my body doesn't understand that there's just nothing I can do about not seeing her. This is definitely going to help. Can't wait to try others in your series!

This is my favorite practice so far! Anything with legs and a strap make me extra happy, but the beauty of this practice was the selection and sequencing of all of the poses Everything fit together and just flowed. Thank you!

Perfect! Went for a 10k loop trek yesterday and when we got back to the car, realised we lost the keys 🙄. Had to turn around and start all over again 😩 even the dogs were peed off. Thankfully half way up we met a couple who had found our keys, whoohoo 🙏🏼. So pretty sore today and this sorted me no end. I let the dogs watch in case they felt like joining in. They only partook in downward facing dog 🤭

I was having hamstring cramps during the day and when I tried to sleep for 2 weeks straight. I did this before I went to sleep and then they were gone! A true miracle, thanks!

Have you tried my hamstring roll out and lower leg care classes (links below)? These might help loosen up those areas as I too struggle with hamstrings and calves. At least 2-3 times a week. Yin is most effective first thing in the morning before a workout to really mobilize tissue but can also be used after for post stretch. Enjoy!

Good Morning Aprille, thanks for the great video! Wondering why we always roll to the right side when changing poses, or after shavasana?

Excellent observation Kathy! We roll to the right because it helps regulate our blood pressure back to normal from being on our backs. Nurses use this in the hospital to regulate blood pressure in post op patients or to bring a super high or low blood pressure back to normal. It is also easier on the heart. I recommend everyone roll to their right for a breath or two whenever they have been lying flat (in the morning in bed as well). Best way to ease the body into upright : ) Thanks for asking!
