Hello Yogis!
If you suffer from lower back pain this class will balance you out! This practice involves both internal and external rotations of the hips. I've also added in some twists to really target the QL, which is one of the root causes of low back pain. Overall, this is a nice deep release that you can do over and over when needed. #yinyoga #tighthips #backpain
YOU WILL NEED: 2 BLOCKS however, it is not necessary. Remember you can use folded up pillows and/or books

What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.
When practicing always remember
1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
3. Resolve to be still

Your classes are a mixture of familiar and unique. Familiar, in that you do poses most people would recognize. Unique, in that you have special and different ways of expressing the poses. I love it. Great balance and I feel things in all the right places. Great teacher. 👍

wow this was incredibly challenging but the end result is ✨️✨️✨️ seconding the request/idea above RE class for tight muscles. i feel chronically sore, even though i have a daily yoga practice. thanks to this video, my hips feel so open now!! appreciate you guiding us through this and thank you for all the qork you put into these!

Thank you! Can you do Yoga for Beginners with Tight and Stiff Muscles? I'm so inflexible right now. I've lost my youthful flexibility and would love to get it back. I just can't go as low as you do. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried my seated practices? The holds are a lot shorter. 3 to 5 breath holds at most.

@@YogawithShaunneka it’s not really about the length of the holds if I can’t reach a position where it creates and stretching effect or am I wrong? For example if I can’t bend the body forward at all, how is it gonna stretch when I’m kind of neutral or even bend back. Guess I gotta start with easier ones or use a block. :)
